Does anyone have a few scanned but otherwise untreated film negatives (b/w as well las color) that I could use to try out some things? I want to see which negative conversion process and software works best for me before committing to things.

I would need the TIFF or RAW files as they come off the scanner or digital camera in case of camera scanning.

That would be a huge help. Thanks.

(I won't use the images for anything else nor post them anywhere)

Question for the @FreeCAD or other structural engineering community - any pointers to a good fl/oss package for structural analysis? (Can be FEA or beam/truss work for 3D simple configurations). Perhaps @prokoudine might have a pointer?

Ok, https://discuss.pixls.us is baaack! Thanks to the hard work by our uber admin darix the forum backups have been restored!

Long story short, we hit a nasty bug that took our server filesystem out (and subsequently all of the VMs that were running our infra). I'll post more details when darix has a chance to talk about it.

THANK YOU everyone who has been so patient and supportive during our downtime! I'm so sorry for the extended outage and will work harder to minimize it in the future. ❤️

Bit of a long shot here, but I have real distinct memories of an old movie or TV show with a gang of crooks (e.g., bank robbers or something -- a crew) wearing these old-style transparent face masks.

Can't for the life of me find it. All I can find in image search are Point Break (presidents), Dark Knight (clowns) & some dumb Netflix show. That or "Halloween"/"The Mask". Because search sucks these days. None of those are it.

Does that ring any bells?

PIXLS.us update. Narrowing down to a possible problem with luks + lvm + raid. Still investigating to mitigate future problems.

Ok. Upon further investigation it’s actually more of a major hardware failure. :blobugh:
PIXLS.us will be down for a little bit while we spool up a new server and restore things (and fix some DNS entries). So sorry for the downtime and we’ll be back up asap!
