Hmmm. Write Z80 first, then port to 6502? Write 6502 first, then port to Z80? Write 68000 first, then port to both Z80 and 6502? Write a bytecode interpreter on both 6502 and Z80 and then code to that bytecode?

I guess I'm looking for an excuse to think about writing code instead of, you know, actually writing code.

@jbqueru Use a language everybody thinks is extinct, but isn't. Forth, Modula 2, Pascal, Ada, PL/I, ... (in order of increasing complexity)

IBM is suing LzLabs, which helps its clients migrate away from IBM computer mainframe technology onto open source alternatives, claiming it wouldn't be able to do so without "reverse engineering mainframe technology”.

The thing about apps like mIRC, ICQ, and Winamp is that they felt like they were made by people who used them. Apps today feel like they were designed by a committee looking at a spreadsheet.

When an app is missing basic features and still pesters me whenever I open it to try some new AI bullshit, I wonder if the PM got the promotion they were going for.

That’s one of the things I like about open source apps. Even if they’re less polished, you can feel they are made by people who use them.

@zombierustpunk @KevinMarks If the change in question is some PM's promotion project, any criticism can (and likely will) be handled with a variant of "you're not the target audience."

I eventually stopped bothering beyond sending crash reports and reporting localization/accessibility issues (and those are frustrating enough).
