Good price for a new 8TB 5400 RPM drive. I'm still probably 2-3 years away from going all solid state, but probably have enough spinners to last me until then.

Any reason to not scrub and recycle all my <= 2TB 3.5" SATA spinners? I generally keep old hardware forever but just can't imagine me ever using any of those again.

Thunderbolt drive dock is handy for this, connected to a mini.

Wished I had the OWC T2 one, but I've never found that one at a good price.

    These 42" iMac rumors are probably the silliest ones I've heard in years. Just put a 42" TV on a desk and try to use it, it’s a terrible experience. *

    • Unless its an ultra wide, in which case its equivalent of a dual 24" monitors which is still just a weird and very unpopular form factor.

    This is a neat little thing, I think about the same CPU performance as the i7 2018 Mac Mini. Doesn't really break any new ground in performance or size, but the price/performance is pretty 🔥.

    The Minisforum folk also have this more expensive/faster Intel based model with dual NICs. Performance is a bit, but not much, slower than the M1 mini.

    The Trashcan MacPro eBay prices are into the “why not” price range (<= $300). If you ever wanted one might be a good time to pick one up, if nothing else it makes for an attractive piece of tech art on your desk.

    The Samsung M393B4G70BM0-YH9 module works on the Mac Pro 2013, well once you remove the heatsinks. They are available on eBay for < $20 a pop. If you want to get 128GB, and understand the downside, not a bad price.

    Now this Mac Pro is half Hackintosh. Still not a fan of Apple selling these things until 2019 and then dropping support them 3 years later.
