pearsaltchocolatebar,

Scrubs had an episode about this. I think it was 15 seconds that they actually paid attention.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

This has been a known thing since the early 2000s, if not earlier.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

It seems like banning someone who threatened suicide might backfire.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

They’re talking about standard beer bottles

pearsaltchocolatebar,

They mean the long neck bottles, but maybe they think different bottles are used in the rest of the world.

Texas professors want to use abortion ban to punish students for "consensual sexual intercourse" (www.salon.com)

“Along with their anger about abortion, they grouse about not being allowed to punish students “for being homosexual or transgender.” They also argue they should be able to penalize teaching assistants for “cross-dressing,” by which they appear to mean allowing trans women to wear skirts.”

pearsaltchocolatebar,

If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

My SO and I just watch the same shows on repeat (American Dad, Futurama, etc.)

pearsaltchocolatebar,

That would be a short stay in Russia. Putin doesn’t keep useless assets around.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

Yeah, he’d lose a ton of that power if he was hiding out in Russia.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

I didn’t come here to be attacked like this.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

Which, Imo, is a good thing. Having a human repossess a vehicle is a pretty dangerous situation.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

I don’t see why they wouldn’t be human.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

I mean, a car isn’t a universal human right.

If you financed a car, that means the lender owns it until you pay it off. You agree in the loan contract that they’ll take it back if you stop paying for it.

Plus, it’s not like they repo it the day after a missed payment.

Texas Supreme Court rejects challenge to state's abortion law over medical exceptions (apnews.com)

The Texas Supreme Court on Friday rejected a closely watched challenge to the state’s restrictive abortion ban, ruling against a group of women who had serious pregnancy complications and became the first in the U.S. to testify in court about being denied abortions since Roe v. Wade was overturned....

pearsaltchocolatebar,

Because the only way to change it is from within. If every blue vote leaves, then things will get much worse, much faster.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

Then the other red states start getting the same ideas.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

Pretty well at a local level for our rural town.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

Not every financial institution has brick and mortar locations.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

You’re ignoring the part about having to go find your phone. MFA apps still require you to do that.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

Yeah. AI can definitely reduce development costs by handling a lot of the easy busy work for developers.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

It’s usually the insurance company, not the doctor. My wife had to do a round of PT for her badly torn meniscus before they’d approve an MRI

pearsaltchocolatebar,

This has nothing to do with Israel feeling threatened.

Israel wants Palestine for themselves, and they’ll kill everyone there to get it.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

I guess that’s a pretty good way of looking at it.
