Some of you might have heard about rclone. It's an open source app that you can use to mount pretty much any cloud storage provider that you have to your native file system. Like you would plug a USB flash drive for example....

Another day, another fantastic feature that I found. If you've already been for a while, you can check your feed from a year ago*. While you are in your newsfeed, simply click on the you want to check on the Archive pane on the left (keep scrolling to find it), then click on On this day. You'll get all the posts that were sent to your instance exactly one year ago. Isn't it wonderful to walk through your personal memory lane from time to time? 😁

*I guess it depends on how long have you been to a certain Friendica server, not sure if posts are displayed if you moved your account to a different server for less than a year before. I'm also not sure if this depends on a certain plugin, or if it's a baked-in functionality. This functionality is also available only on servers running the develop branch, as of writing. It will become widely available in all servers running 2023.09 or later (once these versions will be released).

Does Google still hold contact data after deleting from Google Contacts? (libranet.de)

I am in the process of moving out some contacts from Google Contacts, specifically those that I do not have a Gmail address. It's a way for me to give these people a tiny bit more privacy, as I'm doing a cleanup of my contact list. My concern is that Google will still keep their data even after I delete it from my end. Is it so?...

What do you recommend as a solution to harden paper? (libranet.de)

I have a few project ideas, and I thought of reusing the paper from various shop catalogs that I receive in my physical mailbox. I'd like to make it stiffer, something more like cardboard. I read somewhere online that you could use corn starch for this, mixed with water. Would it work? Do you have better ideas?
