@kielkontrovers vllt. sollte ein Teil des Abgases in die Innenräume geleitet werden damit das erfahren werden kann wie sehr das stinkt.

@Aakerbeere Das hört sich für mich nach Hosting und nicht nach Tracker an. Sie hätten natürlich auch einen anderen Hoster nehmen können z.B. Amazon, Microsoft oder Telekom.

@onlytina @Aakerbeere der Vorwurf war, dass da Tracking von Google genutzt wird und das kann man daraus nicht ableiten. Da bräuchte es schon noch eine gesonderte Erklärung. Dass sie auch einen anderen Hoster nutzen könnten, ist sicher richtig. Wobei Hoster mit sehr großen Bandbreiten auch seltener sind. Dazu müsste man wissen was die ARD da für Anforderungen hatte und das abschließend zu bewerten.

@onlytina @jimclark @Aakerbeere dass Google Gmail Daten auswertet und verkauft ist bekannt. Das gilt auch für alle anderen kostenlosen Dienste. Dass sie das bei bezahlten Services machen wäre in der EU nicht zulässig. Würde mich auch wundern wenn das ein Unternehmen akzeptieren würde. Ich sehe die Nutzung von Google auch kritisch, aber vllt. erst mal mit den 1/2

    @DerGiga in meiner Geburtsstadt müssen die Häuser exakt in den "historischen" Farben angemalt werden. Also jenen Farben, die das Denkmalamt sich ausgedacht hat. Deshalb ist das Haus meiner Mutter rosa und das gegenüber in einem kräftigen Blau. Bunt geht also auch hier aber natürlich nur per Verordnung.

    While listening I'm wondering if education In CS is like (here comes a bad analogy) :
    Teaching everything we know about materials and then expect the students to be able to build a cathedral with them. Then in the actual job 'out there' we need to figure out why an old cathedral is crumbling, how to fix that. and how to make it a modern cathedral.

At my old university, alumni had been interviewed which parts were most relevant for their jobs. They answered, it was the project in their CS program. Thus, I would have some smaller courses communicating the basics with a part of practice and then start not later than in the second year with a year long project at the core with courses around it to provide CS knowledge.

Thus I would let them learn and practice how to interview people and to process such information and how to do questionnaires and other techniques to gain insight on a domain.

From my experience, students are not really good a abstractions above the one or two programming languages they learned in their CS program. Often they are not good with them as well. Essentially, they program something. It does not work. They try to figure out why. And essentially, they use code to gradually
    understand the problem.

    create tests first, as they do not have a specific enough design first. We tried to teach TDD to them, but they are unable to come up with relevant tests before they implement the code. => We need a better approach.

There is a tendency in many people to rather built something themselves than to use a library. This comes often from that they do not like to read documentation, which in turn originates from lousy written
    documentation + lazy readers. (I was once, like that) To overcome
    this, you need positive experience by getting a quicker result with
    a framework than without.

We have done that for our own scientific software at university. We learned a lot, they learned a lot. Unfortunately, we did this only 2 years long.

    @GinevraCat I tried to communicate that at my current university. The result was: It is a great idea, but we will never get all professors in the boat. I'll be retired before this is implemented. And then I can be a grumpy old dude who knows it better all the time. 😆

    @AstridSawatzky @GinevraCat @allenholub @yisraeldov @apaipi @davefarley77 @GeePawHill I tried to figure this out and there have been done experiments on this subject for example "Teaching Abstraction" Böttcher, Schlierkamp, Thurner, Zehetmeier (2016). There are others, but in the end the advice is more practice with examples. I've done this myself, but the results are very limited.🙁
