For folks that know me as "the blue noise guy", I've put together a 50 minute video that talks about many of the things I've learned in my ~decade long dive into noise and related topics - up to and including our latest paper published days ago at I3D.

A slide showing how random numbers which are positively correlated on the screen give correlated resulting renders, uncorrelated random numbers give uncorrelated renders, and negative correlation random numbers give negatively correlated renders. Negatively correlated renders have the best perceptual quality, despite all three having the same actual error.

As I gear up to reboot the gameplay side of this project, I spent some time making the world map nicer. Zoomable UI goes zoom!

Camera smoothly zooming far out of a stylized island in the middle of an inland sea. The zoom-out reveals a watercolour-esque world map, with various colourful biomes.

@jonikorpi ah I see. Very cool effect and by navigating this site I really like the 'length' one. I was using the marching squares in a vis I did for a client but those options are also very cool! Thanks for the link :)

    @grumpygamer @isadora @djlink @saint11 i think the solution I often see to this problems are radial menus because they can jump you directly to where you want with just a button press + motion. Combine that with tabs and win?
