Watch it every year. Something of a tradition for me now!

Itโ€™s your lucky day! Invest it on a lotto ticket ๐Ÿ˜‚

I quite fancy giving Monk a go. Looks interesting, and different to what I tend to go for. Iโ€™m purposely skipping early access and waiting for the full release. Canโ€™t wait!

Those boys look like theyโ€™ve been through it! Great job!

Right front. I only carry a small card wallet so both go in together fine. Keys and other scratchy stuff in the left.

I love your comment about happiness not being a contest. I have always bought in to the idea that happiness is a choice, you decide whatโ€™s important to you and if youโ€™re getting those things then be happy! Donโ€™t worry about everyone else comparing themselves to each other endlessly, that is the road to madness ๐Ÿ™‚

How many people here have actually used XMPP?

With all the current discussion about the threat that Instagram Threads has on the Fediverse and that article about how Google Embrace Extend Extinguished XMPP, I was left very confused, since that was the first time Iโ€™ve heard that Gchat supported XMPP or what XMPP actually is, and Iโ€™ve had my personal Gmail since beta (no,...

Iโ€™ve got my own XMPP server running on a raspberry pi so that I can have a safe chat app with my kids. I didnโ€™t want to expose them to the wider world at their age, but itโ€™s great to have a chat / video calling app thatโ€™s all routed through my private kit. So now when theyโ€™re ignoring my messages I know that they 100% safe online ๐Ÿคฃ

Loving the primary colour option! The default was the only thing I wasnโ€™t keen on in the app, and now I can jazz it up as I see fit. Awesome! Keep up the fine work ๐Ÿ˜Ž

RG35XX - This is amazing! (lemmy.world)

Just got this bad boy yesterday and Iโ€™m like a kid at Christmas! ๐Ÿ˜„ The delight I felt firing up my old love, Desert Strikeโ€ฆ Goosebumps! Seriously impressed with this bit of kit, and Iโ€™m enjoying exploring the options as much as the many many games! The effort put in by the community with GarlicOS and the ROM packs is...

I picked mine up from Amazon for ยฃ80 with next day delivery. Loving everything about it so far.

Hundreds, if not thousands, across all kinds of retro consoles! Atari all the way through Gameboys, NES up to PS1. The default OS seems ok, but I only tried it briefly before switching over to GarlicOS which everyone seemed to be keen on. This guide was super helpful in getting me started.

The screen is indeed very nice.

Iโ€™m a RIF widowerโ€ฆ Iโ€™m finding Liftoff to be a great mobile app. It doesnโ€™t seem to get much love but itโ€™s stable, easy to use and actively developed. Iโ€™m feeling right at home with it ๐Ÿ™‚

Flexible filament that can be used with a bowden extruder?

I need a certain, rather complex shaped, flexible rubber gasket for a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Cutting it by hand would be a pain in the rear. My idea is to 3D-print it on my Ender. And now for my questions. a) Is it a myth, that you cannot use flexible filament I a bowden extruder? b) If no, does anyone of you guys can propose a...

I was curious and so just bought a small spooll of JAYO TPU Flexible Filament form Amazon. Works fairly well on my stock Ender 3. I get usable prints, if perhaps not the highest quality. But that's with zero tuning other than bed and nozzle temps.

Personally I've found the Lemmy experience perfectly ok. I went from never having heard of it to being up and running and having the general gist of it in about 30 minutes. Is it a commercial grade polished product? No. But it works just fine, gives me content to browse, and isn't some horrible humanity grinder in search of profit. If people keep joining the content will follow, just need to be patient and contribute (note to self, I should post something instead of lurking).

As some others have mentioned elsewhere having a slight barrier to entry might slow down the influencers migrating over too. We can but hope.

Oh man, so true! Most threads got so predictable... And many threads very quickly degenerated into a slanging match not even related to the original topic. I like it here :)
