There seems to be quite a few hosting Providers for Mastodon, Can't wait for there to be hosting providers for Sharkey.

There's places like Toot.io that seem pretty good, not sure if I can customise the UI with the prefered look of Glitch. But for minimum $24 a month or roughly £19 a month not to bad. Still rather find a Sharkey instance provider

Working out how to run a Fediverse server is something that is really strange and a lot of work. I hope that I can get some of it figured out as would love to use Sharkey but if not guess Mastodon is a backup as some sites allow you to just boot up an instance.

I hvae a Discord group I'm in and they have a bot post when they have done something on Letterboxd, I use Trakt thank you.

@Looegi Thank you, yeah I can see where people might get that. The expentation is for Trans Pride Organisers Younger and Older, so hopefully it helps them understand it, annoyingly I'm the youngest Trans Pride Organiser out of the UK group of us atleast.

I've got a few of the Trans Pride's interesting in learning about the Fediverse. Instead of making a video like I said a few days ago I think the easier option at this stage is to make a few written documents.

  1. An Essay explaining what the Fediverse is, How to join it and why you should care.

  2. A Presintation for me to show off in Meetings, Calls and in person to expalin it to someone who doesn't want to read the documents.

  3. Optional: Make a video to explain it, so I can send it to people but this is the last thing I will most likely do for this.

Because of our sucess with Trans Pride Southamptons Fediverse Account, me and my girlfriend are now talking about starting our own instance. Guess I know need to work out a Server Provider for us.

So I have found Linode is seemly what people use, Is that all I will have to use to run a whole Sharkey instance? Who knows, but I don't know the first thing of setting this all up

@stu I had a quick look at them, yeah it's possible if I want a Mastodon instance. I much perfer Sharkey and would love to see Sharkey used but guess Mastohost & Mastodon will be my backup for all of this.

Knowing I'm trying to set it up for my local community a more visual experience is what they probably prefer.

@stu Loving it to bits, It's why I hope to run my own for the local community in the near future but maybe I can just use some sort of Theme for Mastodon but unsure where to start with that.

@stu Thank you, I'll have to check them all out. I believe the one I saw used on WetDry.world was Glitch. It's visually better than the normal Mastodon theme.
