Ok maybe I‘m the last one noticing this but when there’s a time picker, like this rolling wheel thing, you can either scroll (of course) or you tap again on the wheel thing and a number pad appears to enter manually
I honestly didn’t know this until now 😅

@fbobraga @santiago hahah no i wouldn’t go that far. I think in many ways android and iOS are probably more or less the same (feature wise) but they just have different solutions. I guess it’s a matter of what you like more, what’s your taste.

Omg this is so cool. Watch the video. How he (mechanically) pushes the selected album down to the player. Mechanical stuff combined with touchscreen. Pretty cool!

In one Xcode project i have 2 ghost errors always appearing again from time to time. They are not real errors, it builds and launches successfully. But even after clean and deleting derived data they won’t go away 😅
So is the menu 'clear all issues' the only solution for this? Well it’s more of a „solution“

I recently rediscovered Tiny Wings! For me it’s basically the perfect iPhone game. Easy to pick up but still challenging. And fun and it makes me slightly addicted 😄

Also it‘s 12 or 13 years old and just got an update a few months ago!

Scanning app which has a subscription or 20$ unlock and does the same which is integrated in iOS for free (e.g. in Files app). Hm.

And since it’s a well known dev everyone goes „wow it’s brilliant!“

If an unknown dev would have released this, no one would talk about it or they would even talk bad about it cause it has a subscription for something which is free in the OS.

This is so weird.

Ok i‘m done, i just had to vent 🙋🏽‍♂️😄

Yes, here speaks a bit of my frustration 😄 i release an app which literally does something unique (afaik no other app in the store does it, which is not easy in a store of million apps) and also useful (imho) but the same sites now talking about how incredible that scanning app is didn’t write about Presets for Photos app.

This can be frustrating. I don’t blame the others, it’s just a frustration and i have to release it from time to time 😌

Ok that’s all, now I’ll keep working on my apps!

@santiago couldn’t have said it better. I mean i don’t wanna say that the dev is dishonest etc but the articles sometimes seem ridiculous to me. I read in one of them that this scanner app is for people who don’t scan a lot. Uhm yeah if you don’t scan a lot then the integrated scanner in iOS is more than enough for you and a subscription for something you don’t use often is really the last thing you need 😄

@matthewcassinelli i agree. Drafts for example is awesome. I stand by my point that it’s weird to have a subscription for a scanning app or 20$ for something which is basically free in the OS. I agree that he earned his audience, i know how hard it is to build.

But sites should review apps because they think they’re interesting and no matter who released it, i think.

And yes there’s a lot of my frustration in my posts, which of course is my own fault only.

@matthewcassinelli but again, i feel like it’s not fair when someone reviews an app and gives it huge praise only because you know that person. And if another would’ve released the same they would ignore it or even criticize it for having a subscription for something which is free in the OS.

I think it shouldn’t be based solely on the relationship between reviewer and dev. Of course it plays a role too, i agree. We all want to help out friends, you’re right with this. That’s normal.

@santiago i agree. And the problem is I can’t even compete with them on apple seatch ads for example. Cause they have much bigger budgets obviously. And so they can buy even more exposure which smaller devs can’t afford.

@santiago but what do you mean with accepting that mindset? Like, making apps you don’t really want but which have a bigger chance to make money? And maybe put ads into them? Or what was it first you?

@santiago sounds logical what you’re saying. I have to think about that and maybe find an idea which has a chance to make some money but also being kinda acceptable 😅
I have to be a bit more realistic or reasonable with my projects and not just do the „fun“ stuff. And then complaining to being broke 🤦🏽‍♂️

I released lots of updates of my apps in the last weeks. (All have the usual bug fixes etc)

Presets the Photos app companion now shows the clipboard when you select an edit.

Kolibri for SwiftUI has better and easier gradient editing and more macOS likeness

Parrot is free and has better iPad layout

And Timeview, calendar statistics and insights, has an interactive widget and i cleaned code from deprecated stuff in ios 17
