@silverpill I'm convinced state funding is it's own hazard at this rate. It's not hard to imagine ways in which funding can be used as a bargaining chip to impact users and the software.
@gabriel Yes, state funding is a red flag, even if it comes from innocuously looking proxies like NGI. Just like stewardship by for-profits, this creates a conflict of interest. I generally prefer projects that are maintained by accomplished developers who have other sources of income, or funded exclusively by donations.
FEP-ae97 and FEP-ef61 require embedding signed objects into other signed objects (example: Create activity), but Data Integrity specification doesn't say how to do that correctly.
Looks like we have two options:
Use RDF canonicalization instead of JCS, double down on JSON-LD and RDF
Use JCS, but break compatibility with some JSON-LD processors
