What is interesting about me. Lets see.
I am a coder. Main language is Moo but I also know Lua. I am a musician. Main thing is drums but I also play bass and keys. I am an Audio engineer mostly working in the live audio world. I am just trying to figure out life and be happy doing it!

Is anyone using the TeamTalk spotify text python bot? It seems to not support encrypted servers at all and I'd really love this changed. The one TT server I stay on is encrypted. I currently have to spin up another TT server just to use a text bot. If anyone has any ideas that'd be lovely!

I'm happy to report that since installing the final final build of iOS 16.5, along with the 16.6 beta which I downloaded today, I haven't had any VoiceOver / audio crashes. This was a huge problem throughout the 16.4 and 16.5 beta cycle, and something about the nature of the crashes caused other audio sources to stop, including phone calls, music, and TeamTalk. I don't know anyone else who experienced that aspect of it, but apparently Apple fixed it anyway. The latest beta feels quite responsive on my 13. Sadly, it still jumps focus around in popup menus, and the positive changes to Eloquence were also reverted during the 16.5 beta cycle.

@simon I may get annoyed with android sometimes but I'm so glad I made the switch in 2021.

I figured I'd go connect my gmail account to outlook to test out some stuff. This browser or app may not be secure. I'm not sure who to blame first. Microsoft or Outlook.

@Brynify @liamerven I had the same issue.

In over 20 years of using Windows, I've never put icons on my Windows "Desktop". However, the Windows 11 Start Menu is so exasperatingly, productivity-killingly buggy that I finally got sick of it and put shortcuts to my most commonly used things on the Desktop, since Microsoft haven't managed to screw that up. Yet.

spaciath,

@TheQuinbox @simon @jcsteh It did for me when I was on 11 a few months ago

Here's a recording from a very noisy microphone setup which Goyo cleaned up shockingly well.

Ugh ...for the love of cthulhu on ice skates in the zoo, I like the quality of Native Instruments sample libraries but the installers and the Native Access platform can at times be pretty ... dire. Oh, an error in the install? No problem, we'll just quietly halt and not tell the user. Why did it error in the first place? Why because there are colons (:) in some of the file names so Windows starts sh*tting bricks. No problem, right? We can just cancel that install and move onto the next one. Except no, no you can't, unless you uninstall Native Access, downgrade it, reboot, and then upgrade it again. What? Who does QA on these products? This isn't even at this point, this feels more like a rush job. Gross.

@zersiax Jesus fuck. I'm glad I'm not playing with this then.

@TheQuinbox So. I had to moo code this.

@TheQuinbox @BrailleScreen @Faylen I updated this code. It gets rid of the huge fuckballs list and just calls random with two values. @program #6:RYear
msg = random(1970, 2023);
player:tell("Copyright [c] ", msg, " Spaciath and All Systems Go.");

The headphone port on the front of my computer has totally, 100% stopped working. If I plug in headphones, I get a tiny bit of audio noise when the cable goes in like normal, but then literally nothing. Great.

laptop got so hot I smelled melting plastic. battery dropped 40 percent in just a few seconds. Is it safe to say I'm a bit fucked here?

spaciath,
@spaciath@dragonscave.space avatar

@evilcookies98 This laptop has always been a bit sus. It was bought from a buy sell list for blind people. I don't know what kind it is. I don't know the bios version, I don't even know the type of case. All that info is not there. It's like the one who built it did some seriously scary stuff. It's never ran that well. Battery life has always been beyond bad. Even after three new windows installs.

This UPS is doing some strange shit. We're getting a massive storm outside. UPS isn't fully losing power as it's not beeping. but it's clicking and clacking several times a minute. Would anyone happen to know why? I've never seen it do this before.

You know, with a lot of recent NVDA changes, my laptop actually gets really respectable battery life. 89 percent 8 hours and 38 minutes remaining Unplugged. It's been unplugged for about an hour maybe a little more now.

I need moo code to schedule a task at a very particular time. Example. task run at 12:00 pm. Keep running at 12:00 pm until told to stop. This having to make timers and assume I'll be right on the mark is getting old after 5 years.

spaciath,
@spaciath@dragonscave.space avatar

@fireborn I have scheduler code from lisdudes site that includes cron code. but syntax is confusing as all shit. I figured out the make timer code, but I have to just schedule those when I want. @mktimer $meow:meow every 340 seconds.
But this, this I can't understand. :@add @mkcron
Usage: @mkcron <minute> <hour> <day> <month> <weekday> <object>:<verb>[(<args>)]

spaciath,
@spaciath@dragonscave.space avatar

@fireborn Thanks! I'll give this a look! I finally got 24 hour time working no matter the timezone used!
