Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but my understanding is basically an attempt at accounting for all civilization-collapsing-level catastrophic events. Maybe not global, but massive-scale.
I’m a PS5 player, so I can’t make an impact, but if you did write a negative review (thank you, you made this happen ❤️) please consider taking the time to change it! This was clearly not AH decision and the game deserves an accurate review, it’s easily one of the best games I’ve ever played and definitely the best...
Seen a lot of posts on Lemmy with vegan-adjacent sentiments but the comments are typically very critical of vegan ideas, even when they don’t come from vegans themselves. Why is this topic in particular so polarising on the internet? Especially since unlike politics for example, it seems like people don’t really get upset by...
In my experience, your first sentence sums it up nicely.
They assume a moral high ground because they’ve adopted a diet that is generally deemed healthier and better for the environment (I don’t always agree with this).
But unless they’re also doing all the things we could all do better (e.g. not buying new, not upgrading the the latest and greatest, not taking 40 minute showers, not eating out every second day), they’re only somewhat less guilty of environmental damage than the average person, but they’re taking a generally undeserved “holier than thou” position and then shoving it down your throat. This isn’t everyone, and I don’t really care what you eat, but these are the vegans that get under my skin.
So just wanted to rant about something else besides PSN. A buddy of mine wanted to play a bit as kind of a potential last hurrah so we went in to play a two player game on suicide and just immediately got overwhelmed with enemies on something we normally hold our own....
Companies now want 24 hour productivity, which means they will abuse their workers to keep that cycle going. Worker healthy is probably not even a thought, just: how do we get more out of them?
Edit: how do you find the interface? I looked at the photos and it looks very interesting, kind of has some Sesame type system wide search functionality?
I was a student for many years (5 years of undergrad, 2.5 years of grad school), and I became very comfortable with always being able to look at the syllabus and my grade and know what I needed to do and how well I was performing. Work isn’t like that. Like I think is normal, I get a performance review once a year. I find this...
I can add that I’ve built a career on rubbing elbows with the right ppl. You don’t have to be the best, you just have to be likeable and decently competent. As bad as it sounds, people relations first, productivity second.
I’m not the type to slum it for a paycheck, but I’ve found that good perceptions are everything. Balance technical ability with relationship management and you’ll be golden.
Oh, and I still regularly struggle with imposter syndrome, despite the above…
