Durock Shrimp or Gazzew U4 switches for slightly on the premium side. If you feel .65 per switch is a bit much, I highly recommend Haimu Whisper (.30 cents per) or Wuque WS silents - not as thocky as Shrimp or U4 but more comfortable to type on, imo.
Received my Susu set and have to say I’m enamored with it, there’s just something about the satin feel and the way it cups your fingertips is just so right - I have a tendency to lightly feather the home row in between typing/composing text and best I can put it: gentle gliding vs. skidding compared to GMK/DMK CYL. If it’s anything like their mini pc business, it can be hit and miss - best to wait a bit. Seems their business model (at least on the pc side) is to pump out the latest trend and move on and not really fix any issues that crops up. Also they are based out of china so you might have to eat the shipping cost for any “fix”.
Just wanted to share the link to the livestream of the designer Matt3o looking at the first batch of the MTNU keycaps. They are made by GMK out of PBT, with double shot legends. The profile has been developed by Matt3o and GMK as a Cherry-height spherical angle shape. First batch is currently shipping out and has the WoB, Beige...
Always liked Susuwatari but could never get myself comfortable with MT3 profile. So glad for the reminder, placed an order - finally going to get my own set of Susuwatari, thanks!
Hey folks. I was wanting to get a new set of keycaps for my work computer’s keyboard, but I’m having a little trouble finding a set that seems like a good fit. I’m fishing for suggestions here....
Double check and make sure it has the coverage for your specific keyboard, I don’t recall which brand(s) but something like Razor or the like have non-standard spacebar size 5.5u , etc.
Am with kilted_ on this one, possibly look at one of the other uniform profile like KAM as he mentioned, or DSA. XDA is not very comfortable to type on extensively, and tends to wobble on lighter switches.
Hi everyone. I currently use Zeal Zilent V2 67g switches and really enjoy them. I like how quiet they are and like that the bump/resistance is immediate....
I’ll toss another silent tactile into the ring: Durock Shrimp tactiles. I use Zilent 62g, U4 62g, and Shrimps interchangeably and like them the most for the consistency(least spring pings/scratchiness), smoothness, and bump.
I am still learning the hobby, but recently I found a keyboard I really like, however it has bluetooth (yikes). I’m not a fan of Bluetooth for keyboards that I will 100% use wired, and it doesn’t seem there is a way to disable the Bluetooth via Firmware or Hardware switch....
You would need a pcb with matching mounting style, and with a jst connector for the daughter board - will be tough. That said, you should be able to use the board without the BT, just don’t install a battery and use 100% wired as you want.
So, this looks like the start of a relatively new community (at least for me), and we surely have some new people coming over from the coffee subreddit, so let's get some conversation going!...
I know pour over is seemingly the norm at the moment but I'm still chugging along with my 10 years old Bodum stainless steel french press. Tastes fine to me and keeps the coffee hot decently long. Though I've been pondering to do the additional step of pouring it through a Hario filter and see if it refines the taste any further.
Staying, liking it here so far. As others have mentioned, reddit does have a huge base of collective knowledge that I used frequently in the past - and I do miss/resent that.
Why YSK this is that some of the soap absorbs into the fruit, especially berries, and let's say you are washing your cherries with dish soap, and you eat them. That story ends with a long bathroom trip as soap makes you a little queasy. ETA: Nobody has heard about this?! I see it in the southeast where I live.
Nothing fancy at the moment as I haven't had time to play around with it, but VIA/VIAL config software allows for complex macros and customizations. I currently just have the bottom row for basic audio functions: back--play/stop--forward and the knob for volume. Top left button is to put my Mac to sleep if held for 1 sec, and shutdown/restart menu if held longer.
If you liked the U4, definitely should try out the shrimps. Feels very close to the u4 68g in terms of firmness but smoother on the up/down stroke. The bump is slightly more distinct. Just wish they would offer it with lighter springs.
On the cheaper and lighter bump end, I'd recommend either Wuque/Haimu silent tactiles. Very smooth and silent but you're giving about 50% of the bump, but great for office environments and fast typing.
At this point 75% of my calls are spam. I get the occasional text spam but it’s much lower. The number one feature I want Apple to announce is features to better handle spam....
It might not be a device/iOS issue? Have had the same number for about 20 years through Cingular/AT&T and was getting calls on a regular basis, particularly bad leading up to and during covid era (3-4 per day). Ported same number to tmobile earlier this year and spam calls have dropped to maybe one every other week - at most. My take then is that depending on your carrier screening or not pairing with carriers initiating the spam calls.
[UPDATE] Could use some recommendations for a (usually) quick typist.
At home I have a Das Keyboard with Cherry MX browns and they feel great. I think this is the quickest I’ve been able to type on any keyboard....

YSK that it is not a proper way to wash your fruits and veggies with soap
Why YSK this is that some of the soap absorbs into the fruit, especially berries, and let's say you are washing your cherries with dish soap, and you eat them. That story ends with a long bathroom trip as soap makes you a little queasy. ETA: Nobody has heard about this?! I see it in the southeast where I live.
