@siracusa You didn’t waffle about a possible 13” iPad for your TV watching? It got considerably lighter and the screen is so much less crammed for video. I’ve been going back and forth for days now. The only thing stopping me is finer table reading of news on the web and the hunungus price increase. @atpfm
@stevenodb not to mention the restrictions on who bought what on which Switch (where the master account of that purchase resides) which is the most maddening too.
@gruber What!? You never owned a butterfly keyboard MacBook? How did you manage to avoid it? Use a retina MacBook Pro for all those years? 😅 @jsnell@imyke
@stevenodb@jsnell@imyke Correct. I had a maxed-out 2014 13-inch MacBook Pro that I used until this maxed-out 2021 14-inch M1 Max MacBook Pro. (Also used an iMac 5K at my desk for most of those years.)
@gruber@jsnell@imyke That’s amazing. I loved my 2014 13-inch MacBook Pro, but it was a bit under specced by my employer and became too slow for development. Did not love the 15” MBP that replaced it.
The more Apple tweaks its image processing pipeline with ML, the more it seems to turn to shit. Peak iPhone picture quality was around iPhone X. XS was a smoothed flat mess. It recovered somewhat in 11 but has been downhill since. Anything other than a closeup of a person looks terrible 9/10 times.
@xavez@stevenodb@atpfm Autocorrect is not that good for me. I’ve disabled the Suggestions Bar because it’s visually distracting (I have to look at the insertion point, where my fingers are landing, a flashing bar with three words I must read, and retroactive corrections made in my typing output—very bad for ADHD), and that seems to have knocked the system out of the predictive model and back to an older, more reactive one with the pop-up bubbles. That system is still pretty good.
@drahardja@xavez@atpfm it just corrected my attempt at I’ve to “to be”, then suggests Ivermectin after a manual correction… I mean what the fuck, stop indexing other people’s words, index mine!
This it the result after 15 minutes of trying multiple different creditcards to buy a game on PlayStation. It’s incredible how incompetent Sony still is at these things.
SONY did find some money and people to design in some dark patterns. It took a minute of back and forth retrying before I realised it wasn’t necessary to buy PlayStation Plus Extra With Cherry On Top, to play this game. That’s a button in disguise down below saying: Skip to checkout.
Small tip: if you design a better checkout experience, you don’t need this shit to improve your numbers.
.@jbaert Ik heb op korte tijd ervaring met Base/Telenet; Orange/Mobistar en Proximus. Op de driehoek Antwerpen–Leuven–Tremelo is Orange/Mobistar (MV) beduidend slechter qua dekking. Ik heb dagelijks plaatsen waar ik terug val op Edge.
