DuckDuckGo being yet again caused a "private" AI to appear. Based on OpenAI, they claim "not to train on your conversations"... but OpenAI will happily take the convos instead.

The "privacy" saying in your authorship is boring, Weinberg. Stick to something new instead.

The "privacy" saying in your authorship is boring, Weinberg, stick to something new. Not strange people can't withstand talking about online privacy because of some Bing frontend breaching it on a (now likely) daily basis.

Looking for search engines that actually return anything relevant without having to comb through low quality/generated content or ads (so not Google/Bing ranked). Plus if it doesn't "hides" forums et al 🙄 Which one would you recommend based on experience? #search #searchEngine #metasearch

Jednak Bing mnie nie zdjął za antykorporacyjne treści. Hurra!

Nie wszystkie artykuły zindeksowane, strona jeszcze nie występuje pod hasłem "alternatywny internet". Można wyszukiwać niektóre niepełne artykuły, np. "ctrl-s z lamusa" czy "e-mail na styku". Tyle, że nie jest to zbyt przydatne.

Wysłałem prośbę o zindeksowanie do kilku wyszukiwarek indeksujących small web/indieweb, m.in. Marginalia czy SearchMySite. Na @svmetasearch już jest. Sam muszę dokładniej zbadać temat.

Kiedyś typ tu się ciskał, że "ta dzisiejsza młodzież" (ja, lol) nic nie potrafi znaleźć w internecie, tylko się pyta.

A prawda jest taka, że teraz faktycznie lepiej jest zapytać na mediach społecznościowych, albo na Redditcie, bo szukanie z Googlem to loteria, walka z algorytmem, adsami, SEO, i własną cierpliwością.

O taki internet nic nie robiłam ❤️

Pojawiła się* polska powieść otagowana przez samą autorkę jako "solarpunk". Mowa o "Thino'pai" Adrianny Biełowiec. Szczerze mówiąc, po tej grafice na początku miałem wrażenie, że to vanity, ale po sprawdzeniu wydawnictwa wydaje się legitne. Osobiście, nie ciągnie mnie do wilkołaków w kosmosie, ale solarpunkowe inspiracje w polskiej powieści z pewnością warto odnotować.

Muszę niestety podlinkować posta na Facebooku, bo autorka w pewnym momencie stwierdziła, że nie będzie aktualizować strony i przenosi całą aktywność na fejsbuczka i instagrama.

Na fejsbuczkowej grupie "Polska fantastyka" spytałem autorkę, co solarpunkowego jest w tej książce, i odpowiedziała tak:
"Technologie są zrównoważone i przyjazne środowisku, ogólnie większość akcji ma miejsce w lesie, jak i ważną rolę odgrywają zwierzęta, mają nawet własne święto. Miasta są zintegrowane z ekosystemem planety, dużo jest w nich ogrodów i zbiorników wodnych, mają charakter polis albo osiedli, zarządzają swoimi zasobami, jak i wymieniają się dobrami z innymi. Za sprawą automatyzacji i sieci neuronowych ludzie nie muszą pracować, ale mimo to większość chce to robić. Dom można sobie kupić za pensję po 2-3 miesiącach pracy, a postawić go w piętnaście minut. Ogólnie człowiek nie szkodzi planecie. Ludzie potrafią odtwarzać dowolne wymarłe gatunki, jak i projektować nowe, co jednak nie stanowi zagrożenia dla środowiska. Solarpunkowe elementy stanowią tło fabularne, ozdobę, nie są głównym wątkiem powieści."

*- no właśnie, według posta premiera książki w e-booku była 20.02, natomiast na stronie wydawnictwa nie widzę żadnej wzmianki. Na fejsbuczku wydawnictwa pojawia się tylko informacja o tym, że szukają recenzentów dla tej książki.

STOP DOING SEARCH ENGINES

  • search engines were NEVER MEANT to be Bing frontends
  • millions of Bing frontends exist AND YET NO REAL WORLD USE FOUND for making your search engine dependent on big tech
  • "hello yes let's make a bing frontend that claims to protect privacy" - statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged

They played us for the absolute fools...

We decided to mock the Google Chrome's advert campaign running in Poland.

(For non-Polish speakers: it says that Chrome is the only browser without an adblocker and tells you to get rid of Chrome.)

@jamoteusz: LibreWolf. uBlock Origin by default, you can install NoScript alongside. Or replace both with uMatrix. Up to you.
