As much as I love Lady Gaga, I find it careless of her that she did 5 shows while she had COVID, and that she seemed proud about it. There are several things that doesn't make this as problematic as it sounds: (1) she told everyone in her team and they could choose not to go to work; (2) this was in 2023 so most of the population have already been vaccinated.
But there are lasting effects to COVID, and it's just a bit insensitive to blurt that out in an interview as something of an achievement.
But that's who she is, she seems to take pride in just pushing her body past its limits. In 2012, she had to cancel the rest of the tour dates for the Born This Way ball because she fractured her hip AND FINISHED THE CONCERT THAT NIGHT.
And this gives me a contradicting message that I will just attribute to pure ignorance and her wealth catching up to her. At the height of the pandemic, she raised 35 million USD for the COVID-19 effort by contacting companies directly. And now she seems to have initiated a superspreader event. Just gives me the ick.
@Beatlesandworms I also think the same, that she was getting bad advice. Maybe someone told her it was safe because she was vaccinated and most of the audience also.
But Gaga seems to know when to listen to feedback. I hope she'll realize that.

God I wish tech was led by women the way it was supposed to be. Imagine this entire AI thing being led by women, it would be so caring and everyone would have their consent asked for. Instead we get these tech bros who tweet shit like "what's the worst framework you've used" every weekend for engagement.
Someone replied to this post but for some reason it's now giving me a 404. But I agree with what they said before I lost the post. This is an issue of narcissism rather than of gender, knowing that there are women in tech who tread the same path as the tech bros.
But I am inclined to think (with no statistical basis whatsoever) that women leading the tech industry would be better, but that's probably my biases talking.

Our HR head jokingly announced to the entire company (we're at about 50 employees at the moment) that I am now disqualified for the entire year from ever joining any fashion event by the company. That includes both the costume party for halloween and the christmas gala.

I'm just kidding. The HR head is really sweet and it was my idea to just not join this year after winning them for two years straight because at this point it's become embarrassing for me and would tarnish my honor. I wouldn't want to pull a Taylor Swift at the Grammys type of deal.
