I actually love UK spring and summer. There is a lovely beach near us on the Dee estuary we've started going to regularly. Sunset at 21:21 I'm quite into too. Just need to find a place to go for the winter

I've not made any sourdough bread for a while now and I let my starter die. I usually just scrounge some off my mate and get it going again but this time I thought I'd ask the local "artisan" bakery, and they were very happy to give me some starter! So I'll be trying a loaf soon to compare.

I've fallen foul of the "I wasn't asking directly for help" thing here. I see lots of complaints about it so half expected it when I commented in the hope having had the same thing for longer might be useful data.
Wonder if something about the platform just surfaces other peoples convos more or if there is a wider cultural thing now where if someone says "I have problem X" you are just supposed to mutely file away the new fact

I did not know that a Dr. title would be recorded in the German passport.

It’s very telling about German society:

• Titles are a fundamental part of people’s identity
• Titles are displayed and upheld so prominently (by the tiny class of people who have titles) to maintain the social hierarchy from which the title holder benefits

Does there exist a tool to "tail" signals sent between processes? You run it and it'll show you in real time signals (e.g. term, int, hup) being sent, which pid they came from, which pid they went to, etc.

Been trying out one of these tracker apps for activities/mood etc. Got 1 years of data now and it’s been pretty good to see how certain things impact mood, sleep etc.

Anyway, this year: 296 sunny days. 290 days with the family. 130 travel days (not counting to the other island here). 76 days at the other island. 56 days quad bike (it’s on the other island). 52 days rain.

15 year ago me would not have guessed I would choose to spend time in sunny climates. Now chasing it.
