Difficult for a job ad to have a red flag in every sentence, but not impossible apparently.

Am still on the hunt for a good text editor (e.g. one with decent GPU rendering at 60fps w/ sub 10ms latency)

Hey dev, have you ever walked away from a job because the build system and related tooling is terrible?

I have hit 5k subs on YouTube, so now I guess I need to pivot to videos describing how to create a successful channel. Or are reaction videos next?

I could blog more.. or I could write a static site generator for hosting a blog.

is this joke too niche? (I'm trying to find an easy example to teach match guards)

petition to add std::os::all_args() to the Rust standard library. all_args() returns Vec<String> avoiding the need to tell beginners about iterators, collect and Vec<_>.

@sovtechfund A small request, please use an international date format (DD/MM/YYYY) rather than the American one (MM/DD/YYYY) in your English blog :)

The problem with everyone fleeing the birdsite, including the bird, is that it feels like we're all bugs scampering away after someone lifted up the rock. Where is everyone going?

Is there anyone around AU/NZ who would like to create an organising committee for a Rust-centric event in our region?

An unsupported belief that I hold strongly is that all code examples in programming textbooks should be working programs because this helps learners to learn.

In any reasonable programming language, this would be perfectly fine. [...] Unfortunately, this is Rust we're dealing with. 😅

Hmm... it looks like my pricing for my live course is too low.

Turtle Sec's (In)Secure C++ course is USD 2k, and so is the intro to Rust course by Ferrous Systems.

Comprehensive Rust is a similar length, but half the price.

hot take: Rust drama seems to happen all the time because it's a very big community, not because it's more prone to inter-personal conflict than other spaces.
