The French National Assembly on Thursday unanimously adopted a bill aimed at restricting the manufacture and sale of products containing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances — also known as PFAS or “forever chemicals.” The MPs, backed by the government, voted to exclude kitchen utensils from the scope of the text....
It was on Kickstarter which makes me a bit nervous, but I found a set of carbon steel clad pans from a new company called Strata Cookware. They’re the weight of something like an All-Clad but with a carbon steel top sheet. Pretty excited to try them out.
If you’re in the US, you might see a new shaded section at the top of your Google Search results with a summary answering your inquiry, along with links for more information. I think this will be a major issue with AI. Just because it was trained on a huge wealth of knowledge doesn’t mean that it was trained on correct knowledge.
They’re mostly planted outside of CA but they can survive and thrive in many places!
It’s really interesting how tiny the native range of certain species of plants are, I have a Port Orford cedar in my yard that only natively grows on the coast right at the border of Oregon and California.
I saw this the other day and I’m like well fuck might as well go to trade school before it gets saturated like what happened with tech in the last couple years.
My mom bought a cheap HP printer/scanner several years ago and subscribed to their “instant ink” subscription which was actually surprisingly cheap (like $3/mo) but once the printer stopped reliably connecting to the internet and nobody could print wirelessly anymore with it, she canceled the subscription and HP DISABLED ALL OF THE INK CARTRIDGES. The cartridges themselves have wifi connections so HP can automatically send you new ink when they get low. What a scam.
IIRC there’s a few novel treatments (one using electro simulation of the tongue) and some new studies on the cause of tinnitus (auditory nerve overcompensating) that may lead us towards a cure.
Would have to do some digging to find those sources though.
It’s cheaper to put one screen and write software than spin up manufacturing operations for all sorts of differently shaped custom buttons and the control systems and wiring harnesses that are required to operate them all, so that’s why automakers are doing it. Not saying I like it lol.
My high school taught the quantum mechanical model of the atom instead of whatever simplified model most high schools teach.
I found out this was a huge advantage taking university chemistry because I was like “cool this is all review I’m gonna ace this,” but everyone else in the class was like “what the fuck is going on this isn’t what they taught us!”
This is a great tip actually, the water heater in my house is on the opposite end of both bathrooms but close to the kitchen/laundry so it takes forever to get hot water in the bathroom
I asked for help on the Discord server of LinuxServer.io and they were literally talking shit about me to each other while I was in the chat because I didn’t understand their utter garbage documentation for a Docker I was having trouble with, even with a CS degree.
I almost quit my job after Christmas because they canceled my holiday time off without any work for me to do. I was just going to live off of savings while looking for a job, but the job market is so weird right now I decided to power through it
