Please Don’t Share Our Links on Mastodon

What?
Please Don’t Share Our Links on Mastodon: Here’s Why!

tobias,

tobias,

ping @hypolite as he is doing the care work for the directory

@StefanMuenz @potus zwei Herzen schlagen ach in meiner Brust. Das eine lacht, das andre weint.

Eine eigene Fediverse Instanz vom Weißen Haus wäre so viel schöner gewesen... 😰

tobias,

@vegos_f06 yes, but they needed to click the checkmark in the settings to activate federation via ActivityPub. And yes it is bi-directional.

Kontaktleichen in Gruppen entfernen

somewhere i read that the problem with the addons-file distribution has been fixed? If so, the release notes should be upgraded.

tobias,

Yes, the archives are build now for the addons as well and the release notes have been updated friendi.ca/2024/03/21/friendic…

How do you capitalize the name of this network?

tobias,

It is a name after all, so capital "F" :)

Using Friendica on mobile via tusky, I then and now end up responding to comments that pass by in my timelines but I so far have no good way of finding these in the Friendica web interface. Is there some way to configure a channel, search query, ... that retrieves "responses I left in threads"? Or is there some native way to see this in Friendica web that I'm missing so far? (I wonder because I think I've already seen the latter but I fail to find it at the moment...)

tobias,

There is the "personal" tab in the WebUI for the network stream that shows all conversations you interacted with; but I don't think a channel can be defined upon it.

¡Hi Friendifans!

I guess this topic has been covered 1000 times before, but I can't seem to find a way to "search and find" the older threads on this forum. So I apologise for returning to a familiar topic.

I installed on my home micro-server on and after an upgrade it worked perfectly for a few weeks, but lately it has started to frequently show the "504 Gateway Time-out" error page and I wonder if this could be due to some configuration of my node or some other reason.

As a background, at the moment, the server has only one active user, with almost 2.000 contacts.

Version 2023.12 - Version BD 1542/1542 - 1507/1507

Thank you very much in advance for any help.

tobias,

What hardware are you using for Friendica? And what other services are you running on it?

E,g, I'm using a RasPi4 and running Friendica + Nextcloud but not with 2000 active contacts.

Could someone who had the registration problem before ([url=https://github.com/friendica/friendica/issues/13765]13765: Can't register new user]/url]) verify that the issue is fixed in the current RC version of Friendica.

Thanks!

tobias,

As mentioned in the issue in the tracker, as there was no followup by the reporting persons after the fix was included in the RC code, we will assume that the problem has been solved and will proceed with the release procedure which the issue had blocked.

Would it be possible to have the stock Diaspora* colour theme applied to a Friendica frio frontend? I feel quite well using Friendica web even on mobile devices by now but somehow the Diaspora* colours are a bit ... more convenient at least on my eyes...

tobias,

@z428 I think you can set it in the display settings, choose the "self-defined" color scheme for frio and put in some colors resembling the colors from Diaspora*

The white would need to become more grey I realized after taking the screenshot.

Hey @heluecht @hypolite @nupplaphil looking at the open issue list for 2024.03 which of those issues can be realistically fixed soon and be included in this iteration?

The icing for today

andy, to developers

Hello

I have been running .03-rc for several days now. When I moved from stable to RC, the database and the update versions were correct once everything was done.

Today, I forwarded the RC by running git fetch & git pull and now I got the following mismatch:

The database version is 1553/1554, the post update version is 1550/1550.

Running bin/console dbstructure update -f doesn't seem to make a difference.

What's going on here? The database version doesn't normally change once the RC is branched off. How to correct it?

tobias,

Last week heluecht fixed an issue in the RC version so smooth out a rough edge that involved some changes in the database, hence the DB version changed. This can happen during RC but might not.

tobias, to admins

Hey there, in case you had not noticed it, we released Friendica 2024.02-rc on Wednesday. Among the unlisted things in the release note are bug fixes for two security/privacy related bugs that have been found in 2023.12.

If you have not yet updated to the 2024.03-RC, personally I would encourage you to do so (or to the latest development branch, there the fixes are included as well). The RC branch is pretty stable and we aim for a release as early in March as possible.

In case you have not installed Friendica using git, but with the archive files, please have a look at the 2023.12 release notes and pick the latest archives from files.friendi.ca (there is already a friendica-full-2024.03-rc archive, but for the addons you need to take the friendica-addons-2024.03-dev archive as the RC branch had not seen any commits for the addons so far).

tobias,

At the very moment of the release, yes. The RC branch is merged into stable and this is merged with develop afterwards. So you can switch from develop to stable at the release point. (And likely a bit afterwards until the next changes to the DB hit develop, after this you should not switch back)

tobias, to fediverse

Many thanks to all the people who have worked on the various parts of the Fediverse long before it was cool to be here!

Hey all, any idea if Friendica is affected by this Mastodon issue as well?
