tungah,

Welp, if all of that is ADHD, what’s there left? 🙁

tungah,

No. Let them ask their pals at the CIA for some money. They’ve got plenty.

tungah,

Best used in tandem with something like languagetool.org for the final revision.

tungah,

Is sudo even necessary? I bet the command would execute without any resistance.

tungah,

All this “AI” talk is starting to sound like a load of bs to me. Just like nfts and crypto. Specially compared to crypto, the tech is interesting, but maybe it’s being implemented and used in the worse way possible, fueled by greed, and probably denying us of it’s full potential. Or at least moving it further away into the future.

What social taboos that exist today do you think will not be around in 100 years?

I was reading a book on social life of the upper-middle class and new rich of the American 1920s and realized so many things we now do proudly were considered socially taboo back then. This was especially the case for clothing, makeup, women in certain public spaces, etc. What do you think will be different in the 2120s? Or...

tungah,

Would be interesting if the little rocket was going in the direction of the sync logo. 😏

tungah,

This movie definitely doesn’t need a sequel. How about these hacks be creative and present us with new stories in the media format, just like they did with, I don’t know, the first adaptation?

They have the talent, they have the money. Just be creative and risk a little.

That’s the only reason we’re talking about this movie in the first place. They took the risk, and imo, it paid off. I understand it maybe didn’t do so well in the box office aspect, but look at the cult following this movie has.

Just leave this movie alone. Let’s have new cool stories, please!

tungah,

I wholeheartedly agree with your point on the actors. Would be really interesting seeing them together in other contexts/stories, though.

With all this talk about sync's pricing...

I think now is a great time to remind everyone, like sync’s developer, Lemmy’s developers need to be paid too! The amount of time all the devs put into making lemmy exist, in my opinion, should be worth some of your money. If you can afford it, donating to the people who develop lemmy and/or the people keeping your home...

tungah,

So now, somehow, money became a capitalist concept?

tungah,

Rethink the basics. Put it all on paper. You can certainly do it. I believe in you.

tungah,

Open it on mobile and you’ll understand. This post exists only to train us for Tinder.

If you don't mind me asking what is so important about privacy?

What harm does public data have to you? Couldn’t one just ignore the ads? You can’t see anyone watching you, is public data good for public records? (I’m just curious). I know this sounds weird but is public data good for historical preservation and knowledge increasing the importance of the individual? And does public...

tungah,

The Connect app is awesome! Using it right now. Super happy with it!

tungah,

Me either. Connect is good enough.

tungah,

Moreover, it looks like it’s gathering user info to third parties like messages, device or other IDs? Hmm 🤔

tungah,

I think we can all make our own conclusions. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the app looks great. But I think the subscription model and the data gathering maybe isn’t the right approach in this instance, since we’re talking about a different culture in Lemmy. This is not Reddit. I’d be happy with a simple, straight app purchase with no bs data mining, thank you very much.

Steam On Linux Usage Spikes To Nearly 2% In July, Larger Marketshare Than Apple macOS (www.phoronix.com)

According to these new numbers from Valve, the Linux customer base is up to 1.96%, or a 0.52% jump over June! That’s a huge jump with normally just moving 0.1% or so in either direction most months… It’s also near an all-time high on a percentage basis going back to the early days of Steam on Linux when it had around a 2%...

tungah,

When giants are fighting, we the little ones can benefit, if we’re smart.

tungah,

I don’t see any difference. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

tungah,

Both are hacks. Controlled opposition.

tungah,

I torrent all my Linux distros with Mullvad. No problems here.
