Hertz put a first-time EV driver in a Tesla that was half dead, then tried to hold her financially accountable for getting stranded on the side of the road....
This is the second article I’ve read about someone getting trapped in a Tesla. It’s a shame that a lot of people will opt to blame the user when this is obviously a stupid design decision by Tesla.
I picked it up to do some canvas projects. Sews through 6 layers of canvas pretty easily! First simple thing I made (warning, pretty amateur sewing :) )
Anyone who thinks a person reviewing a product is on their side is a mark. The issues with LTT videos is so obvious in hindsight that it’s hilarious that the fans haven’t or refused to notice. I honestly thought being shitty and approachable was their schtick? The people who are incredibly upset are likely to stan Gamers Nexus until they eventually get called out by another tech outlet for similar shit. The drama is fun though.
I bought a piece of 1.5 inch stiff foam to try to fix a sag in a bed. It didn’t work but having that thick piece of solid foam around has been a life saver....
I played both one and two when I was pretty young. My parents found gba games to be a lot cheaper on eBay. Turns out they were bootleg copies. Because of this the character transfer didn’t work from one to two. I was pretty bummed about it. Still a fun series! Ragnarok!
Gaming, news, tech, general literature. All of these are somewhat thriving, with a steady influx of posts and comments. At the same time, the userbase is sorely lacking for more niche communities. In my case it'd be stuff like poetry, yoga, religion, linguistics, meditation. Or many other communities I'd doubt they'd form a...
Everytime I have to do something with a dns, subnet, general networking shenanigans. I get really lost. Are there any good books for self learning that won’t put me to sleep?

Hey! Just curious if anyone has read this book. Also, in the beginning it mentions buying Nylon twine (36-48), double braided Dacron rope, and three strand spun Dacron rope. I went to my local West Marine and had trouble actually finding this stuff, it’s a smaller store so maybe they didn’t have it? Can anyone point me in...
Have to say, I wasn't expecting this in my feed. It is a bit novel of a concept, but if you think about what it takes to build and ship a product, a lot of this makes sense, and modern languages are starting to follow the batteries included mentality (golang, rust)....
I found out about it because of a hacker news comment discussing the Reddit drama. I'm pretty upset that I didn't discover it on Reddit. I assume any mention of Lemmy was marked as spam or was I just not browsing the right communities?
My last phone bit the dust because I made the mistake of taking it apart to repair it. It became a gluey piece of garbage. If I want it be waterproof I'll stick it in a sandwich bag. Or maybe the manufacturer can use the novel tech of gaskets.
I haven't used Reddit since I discovered Lemmy. I was a lurker on Reddit and just browsed /r/all. That was a pretty unhealthy habit, glad that the black out happened honestly.
This boat has been anchored in this spot for about a month. Every time the tide goes out the boat sits on the mud. I've been curious if this is harming the boat anyway? Seems like a weird spot to anchor long term....
I just finished building a model of a pirate ship and want the flags to be pointing the right direction. Should the flags be blowing to the bow because the wind is behind the ship, or to the stern as the ship drags the sails along?...
In that case, personally I'd make the flag blowing toward the stern to show that it was beating up wind. I'd upvote a picture of the completed model if you upload it 😁
