Someone who knows this please tell me what I am misunderstanding, though this is not related particularly to this article.

What is “gender affirming care”? When i hear that I am thinking of some racist dad who is forcing their son to go to some camp to get the gay ‘affirmed/corrected’ out of him or something along those lines.

I feel like I keep misreading the different definitions of what is meant where and why.

In general the article seems to be a summary of current legislative actions that are ongoing between big tech and EU. Though in the article it’s worded with the much more fitting ‘game of chicken between EU and Big Tech’ rather than something like the title, but I guess “drop dead has a better ring to it”…

I general the article has a lightly optimistic tone, which I very deeply hope holds true.

Why the article can’t just state what the allegations are and at whom is just annoying, so here you go.

What confuses me a bit is the sentence just before the allegations to Angeleri:

Like… What? What is the logical connection between these two sentences? There could be months or years between those two events? How do these two relate? This reads as two completely separate events. So one could just be an act of goodwill and afterwards he decided to be a prick. Or, first the was a prick and then felt bad and offered the coworker a place to stay?

And if the two events were concurrent that makes it immensely more creepy.

Which would also be worse than the events being unrelated. In the simplest case it’d be guilt-tripping ( you owe me!) or at worst some sort of odd blackmail.

Es kommt wie immer sehr auf dass kleingedruckte in der Umsetzung an, aber die Idee ist amal nicht so schlecht. Der Artikel schreibt aber hauptsächlich von ‘pull’ Methoden, Anreize, Förderungen. Ich würd mich echt über etwas radikaleres wie ersatzteilpflicht oder sowas freuen. Was auch immer apples pairing BS abschafft…

This seems to be posted on this forum with that title solely for rage-bait.

She clearly just-for-fun redesigned Wikipedia as if a modern company got a hold of it. Yes of course this would drive people in this forum up a wall, but that’s just not the point. This is also not about programming at all?

Don’t go around looking for content of other creators just to take it out of context and then bash it.

This is like you watched “we made marvel r-rated” from corridor digital (www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=k5-3eujJyZE) and then post about it, being pissed how they destroyed a superhero fantasy aimed at a wide audience and children and how noone would ever want something like that.

Calling her a bad designer just because you disagree with her design decisions is just mean. This entire post just makes it seem like you are specifically looking for things to hate…

Rein aus Prinzip eine neue App schreiben:

  1. Lokal only
  2. User kann Kontakte anlegen mit einem random key
  3. Andere User können nur durch qr code scannen (also physisch treffen) deinen key bekommen.
  4. Schreibfeld mit einem ‘copy encrypted’ button
  5. Den encrypteten Text in jeder msg app verwenden auf die man bock hat

So wie sich das liest kann ich einfach ne offline only encryption app schreiben und was ihr mit dem text machts is euer ding :)

Wäre witzig zu wissen ob ein online sharing system für nur key sharing also quasi signal ohne chat, erlaubt wäre.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t “loop unrolling/unwinding” something that the c++ and rust compilers do? Why does the loop here not get unwound?

I really think it’s disgusting to boldly claim this is just to protect children. Then get the proposal denied with very valid reasoning that everyone’s privacy would be compromised.

And then, a few months later, they have the exact same argument again with the same proposal as before… This seems deeply disrespectful of the subject matter

It feels like a someone is trying to steal a cookie from a cookie jar, but when mum said no you just try again the exact same way…

Das ist find ich echt witzig. Natürlich wäre es intelligenter gewesen die Betreiber zuerst zu fragen bevor man in einem dichten Gebiet sowas versteckt.

Aber lustig ist es dennoch. Massenpanik hätte aber schnell lustig zu tragisch werden lassen können…
