You need a source for that. They cannot take my professional video/audio work and just use it how they please. They can’t take audio files from a project a musician is working on and just go to town. There isn’t a storage service TOS on the planet that allows that. Literally no business would use them if their usage was “irrevocable” and/or “total.”
Google is an evil company with way too much latitude, but don’t just start making things up

I think it’s all about context. Sometimes things are formal, sometimes things are informal. The ability to participate in either situation is important.
We all make compromises in life. I’m sure there are services you use that you shouldn’t. I’m sure there are things you pay for you could do or learn to do.
I agree this is important, but try to be a little sympathetic. Then work on convincing folks! I find uBlock origin is a great foot in the door - takes seconds to set up and they immediately see the benefits.
