BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to chat in should we be discussing reddit less?

TF is Readit?

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to programmerhumor in Yup, Javascript can go F@#! itself

Is there a JS joke out there that doesn't have to do with type coercion?

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to linux in What disros works on low end, slow, very outdated pc's?

AntiX is quite good on older hardware but beware of the fact they don't use systemd. Nice effort to try and use newer init services but a lot of things really depend on systemd being installed.

WattOS (which uses systemd) is also very performant on old rigs but it needs more tweaking OOTB I'd say.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in How visible is lemmy on search engine?

I believe there are engines that specifically index (search) the Fediverse. Searx is one that can do this but it might depend on the instance.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to nostupidquestions in If someone with an innie belly button were to put a toilet plunger over it and pull, how much force would they need to turn their innie into an outie?

Damn. This magazine is off to a great start!

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to memes in i approve of this message

For those that just aren't ready to go commando.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to youshouldknow in YSK that it is not a proper way to wash your fruits and veggies with soap

OP said they're in the Southeast. Fuckin' Florida.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to AskKbin in What's an innocent misconception about your hobby/profession that drives you up the wall?

Software developer here. Yes, I do get the usual "Can you fix my printer" questions but those don't bother me so much because usually those are easy things and I don't mind acting like a techie superhero. The questions that do annoy me are when someone says they have an idea for an app and asks if I could make it for them. App dev is not an easy process, even when that's your full-time job. When I try to explain this people either try to convince me it's not that hard (when they can't do it themselves) or they get miffed because they think I'm being lazy or don't want to say outright it's a bad idea.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to fediverse in Endless Scrolling

For sure. I hate how most sites do infinite scrolling. When I go "back" what I really want is to return to my previous view, even if that's 1000 posts deep (that's actually a pretty wasteful action, which is again why I prefer pagination).

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to tech in DeSantis election campaign uses AI generated photos of Trump and Fauci - DailyArtificial

This absolutely won't be the last time we see this happen in a campaign. If conservatives believe only what they hear and can't be convinced they were lied to, it'll be impossible to convince them a photo is fake.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to tech in The largest floating solar farm in North America is officially online

My first thought too, but this is a reservoir and not the ocean.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to selfhosted in SilverBullet: open source, self hosted personal knowledge management system

Thoroughly impressed. Other than better theme support (which is just experimental right now) I don't know what else I could ask for.
