Caldera,

Yeah, I have some communities I'll continue to participate in on reddit simply because I can't find a similar community on the fediverse at this time. But it's only a matter of time before those communities will grow a large enough presence elsewhere. When the blackout lifts, there are a few communities I'm a member of where I expect we'll have discussions about a fediverse alternative... ultimately it's not about how many users are back on reddit tomorrow, it's about how many users and communities have started to break their relationship with reddit and prepare themselves for other alternatives.

Long and short term, which features would you like to see implemented?

For me flair is probably the most important. I follow a lot of organized sports and being able to quickly identify which team someone supports helps the conversation move along without having to write "as a fan of..." in every single comment. And this isn't a like talking shit, sports guy thing. It's genuinely extremely useful...

Caldera,

Regarding (1), would it be possible / useful to have more moderator control over this on a magazine-level basis? If a magazine wants to disable downvotes completely, let them. If they want upvotes/downvotes to be anonymous, sure! Linked to profiles? Yeah, if they want. And then maybe a user who wants to remain entirely private can activate a setting where they'll get a warning if they attempt to upvote/downvote on a community that would expose their profile.

Caldera,

A new HC is the perfect time to move on for FVV. He wasn't happy with the changes to his role this last year and from what I've learned of Darko so far, I think that would push his role even further into that facilitator and secondary-shooter role he wasn't happy with last year.

Even so it'll be hard to replace his production and shooting threat... even if he was inconsistent as a shooter last year, he still had gravity as a shooter. His defense was smart, even if he was undersized and (at least when battling through injuries) a step slow. Lots of intriguing combo-guards if we stay at in the draft, though starting is usually a tough task for guards picked in that range. Can we get back a stop-gap guard in a S&T? A scenario where we trade up to #3, draft Scoot, and commit to a rebuild would solve that, but I'm highly skeptical that happens.

Koreen had an article on FVV scenarios, and the one that intrigued me the most was to Chicago for Ball (2-year contract, likely doesn't play during that time), Patrick Williams, and the 2024 Portland pick. If Portland is patient in the trade market and drafts Scoot but still remains open to trading him, then that Portland pick could be the sort of sweetener to get a deal done.
