Saw a MAGAt invoke Mark Twain's "easier to fool people than to convince them they were fooled" quote and completely miss the irony that it applied to him.
After I finished laughing, I considered writing a reply, but then I remembered you can't play chess against a pigeon.
I tried creating a #Patreon account today, and it was immediately flagged and suspended for "suspicious activity." Didn't even add any payment method yet, email address was brand new. Is this a common problem?
I've been thinking about how I was introduced into internet meme culture in the first place. For a while I thought it was when I found ICanHazCheezburger around 2007-8 and started sharing it with my friends over Google Talk. But then I just remembered that in 2004, my father showed me a remix he made of Hey Ya! by Outkast, replacing every "Ya!" with the Howard Dean scream, which he shared with his friends over e-mail.
I would also like to apologize on behalf of my father for abusing the power of the Dean scream and sending us to an alternate timeline where Donald Trump became president. I've since forgiven him, and I hope you all can do the same.
Dear people in Dan Olson's stream who did not know I was going to watch Solo after watching Andor and who therefore had no ability nor obligation to save me. I feel like I walked into a place with a sign in front saying "This is not a place of honor," and I blame you for putting the sign there.
I need some help. I'm patenting an Authentic Movie Going Experience Package to pitch to Netflix, so they can combat losing subscribers who are returning to the movie theater. What else should be in the package?
Make people wait in line outside their own house before being allowed in.
Serve warm soda at $12 a cup.
Have the movie babysit some snot nosed kids while they treat your couch like a jungle gym.
It's 4 PM on a Friday and I'm filling out the rest of my day by trying to determine the exchange rate of US Dollars to Imperial Credits. Seriously, someone at Wookiepedia needs to explain why a brand new X-Wing costs 150,000 credits. An F-15 is $80 million. Are they suggesting that 1 Credit is equivalent to $533? When Andor offers to sell a Starpath Unit for 40,000 Credits, is he asking for $21 million? What does a banana cost in the Star Wars universe? 10 Credits???
@HarkMahlberg I hate that at one point my knowledge was as such that I coulda probably helped you with that, but alas that was many years, numerous deathsticks and an acquisition ago lol.
Maybe x wings are just really cheap to produce and a credit is less that $533? Credits probably just weren’t really thought through super hard. Also, if you’re mixing canon with legends, that could be fucking with your math
