TL;DR: Reddit is removing the option to opt out of ad personalization, targeting ads based on user activity. Some specific ad categories can still be limited, but there’s no more opt-out option.
I want to apologize if I offended any PoC, I didn’t read the greentext correctly and “basketball American” slipped through. I’ve tried to keep my posts as clean as possible and will continue to do so. It’s entirely my mistake and I’m sorry.
Gay Republicans are some of the stupidest people on the planet.
Me and some other gay friends were hanging out one time, and a new guy that was having drinks with us mentioned he was Republican. All of us just stopped and stared.
Turns out he's a pharmacist that is anti-vaxx, amongst other things. Fucking idiot

That is literally one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
There is absolutely homophobia. There are people who very specifically go out of their way to harass primarily LGBTQ individuals. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US experienced this even in school as a child.
Just a few examples that come to mind. Additionally, the pronunciation of the individual words included in an acronym DOES NOT determine the pronunciation of that acronym. See SCUBA as an example.
One of those groups is protesters peacefully opposing a public official. The other is seeking to harass and intimidate, possibly assault or injure, jurors. That's not turnabout.
The piece that gets continuously underestimated is who moves in these small initial jumps. It tends to be the more technically inclined, who over the next couple years, their recommendations will lead to friends and family moving as well, at a slower rate.
It’s my goddamn motherfucking mobile data and MY PHONE. I should be able to use it however I want. Because the Republican party wants it this way. They've burned down net neutrality at every possible opportunity because it doesn't affect them; they barely understand how to send an email, much less connect a device to Wi-Fi without calling their offspring to do it for them.
The last major holdouts in the protest against Reddit’s API pricing relented, abandoning the so-called “John Oliver rules” which only allowed posts featuring the TV host. The article describes it as "the official end of the battle," which seems an overstatement to me, but it's the certainly the end of the initial phase....
They solidified the establishment of competing services (kbin, Lemmy). Many of us would've never even considered using them otherwise. It may not have hurt them a ton in the short term, but they've helped set up their competition.
I would vote Amazon, then grocery chains & food production.
Tech companies need broken up too, but things that affect food supply and distribution have such a disproportionately large impact on those with lower incomes, and would result in much larger, immediate quality of life improvements for the majority of Americans.
