Not sure if you've seen these yet but there is:

!streetwear - seems to be getting active last post was just 7 hours ago.

/m/frugalmalefashion on kbin - only 19 members right now but maybe it'll get going. It was one of my regular stops on Reddit.

With some interaction I figure both of them have a good chance of taking off.

No problem glad to help a little. Keep an eye out on Lemmy Explorer you can use the filter box to search for what you need.

I got some good deals from the Reddit one though about 80% of the posts were trendy things that don't fit my very laid back style.

Search on Lemmy Explorer put your search term in the box that says "Filter Communities" I only mentioned that because it's not intuitive should just say "Search" IMO

I used VLC last time I had to do that. I found this write up since I forgot what I did but it worked and this looks like almost exactly what I did. Make Use Of Article

I've been stuck in the Ren rabbit hole for a few weeks now. I posted on another magazine last week about him and sadly didn't get a big response. He's one of a kind.

Do any of you bother writing abuse emails?

I was logged into my Cloudflare account today attempting to setup Tunnels when I noticed various security events related to my domain. Upon further inspection I realized that they all originated from a Microsoft Owned IP address (I’m assuming somebody running a Azure VM instance)....

About 20 years ago I was running a phpnuke site on my home server and had someone doing the same thing as you describe. Hundreds of attempts over and over all night long. I went through the logs and saw it was someone on intelsat (I think, it's been a long time) internet from Africa. I called intelsat or whoever the company was and talked to their system admin that was on call. Within 20 mins of getting off the phone the attack stopped and never happened again. They guy I talked to was really nice and seemed like he was happy to be able to help me.

I wondered the same thing at the time it had to have been ungodly expensive unless it was a stolen device. I can't remember for sure if it was intelsat or one of the other companies that was around at the time but it was a sat connection. I was also running that webserver on a really bad dsl line. I lived right next door to the phone company CO but was at the end of the line. I had to go with an independent isp because the phone company said it was too far and wouldn't work. It did work but was super unreliable.

I used to really like running it. I had quite a lot of aggregated content on that site.

[Repost from FB] Water Temp Sender problems

1986 381. Has anyone had the problem of water temp gauges reading low? Neither of them quite make it to 140/145. Could it be built up resistance in the sender wire? Wondering if just clipping the old connection and putting on a new one would help. Could the senders just be old and tired?

Comment 1:

Is this problem new or has it been this way “forever”? The reason I ask is that new sending units need to be for one meter or dual meter. If you have a single meter sending unit and two meters hooked up to it (one at the helm, one in the engine room), you will get low readings.

Comment 2:

I have a1985 ,381 and that’s what my temperature gauges reads

Comment 3:

If the engines are raw water cooled, the thermostats should be 160 degrees max. If the thermostats have been removed or are stuck open they will run below 160 degrees. Have you verified the actual engine temperature at the manifold?

Comment 4:

After looking things over and reading all the great comments I’m chalking this up to the poor markings on the gauges. Really hard to know what the precise temp actually is.

Comment 5:

a temp gun aimed at the thermostat housing will give you a very accurate reading.

Comment 1:

Safety switch on the back side of the Cover period when you open it and drop the cover down into vertical position, the safety switch is disengaged. Disconnect all power, make it safe, get to that switch in the back of your stove And either Open it up and clean the contacts off inside it or replace the switch.

Remainder of comments are saying the same solution.

[Repost From FB] Catalina 350 main bilge pump location

Anyone have an idea of where the main bilge pump is on CC Catalina 350 with Merc. It is popping the breaker but I can't find the pump to check it. I suspect the main bilge pump is in the most inconvenient spot... maybe under the plywood base that many of the batteries sit on. I'd really like to confirm that before taking the...

Comment 1:

Aft pump is under an access panel in the floor of the aft cabin. Forward pump under the access panel in the bow cabin floor. Check under the carpet if that’s what you have

Comment 2:

Thanks ... I found the FWD and AFT ones... which are smaller, but still looking for the larger pump somewhere under the salon.

Comment 3:

Have you found the discharge hose? I mean, if it's under the salon, the hose will lead you directly to it.

Comment 4:

I think mine is located between the engines

Comment 5:

My main bilge pump (BP1 on the 12v panel) is under a plywood shelf that a battery is sitting on. way FWD in the engine bay... basically under the fridge. The motor was stuck in place but manually turning it got it started again... now all is fine.

There are several other comments on the OP that don't add more info

I'm interested in the same thing and from the small amount of research I did a few months ago it seems most people are going with a standard indoor temp / humidity sensor and placing under cover. They also were saying that the performance isn't as good as a true weather station. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in.
