He’s never going to pay a dime of that money. He will appeal, posting a bond, and delay for as long as he can, and then assuming he can’t get his judges to reduce or eliminate the fine, the money will magically appear, mostly in rubles and renminbi.
He is only prohibited from serving as a director or an officer of a company in New York. Trump doesn’t need a title to tell people what to do.
It’s only for three years.
Don’t misunderstand, I think it’s good that the fine was high, and the restrictions were as severe as they could have been. The appellate courts already indicated that dissolution would not be upheld on appeal.
But our justice system is broken. There are no rules for the wealthy and well connected. There are no consequences for brazen crimes and treason, as long as you can get enough idiots to support your candidacy for president.
I don’t think it’s surprising, I don’t think the Democratic Party really means to be as lax on border issues as the Republicans make them out to be. They want more liberal immigration policies, and are willing to give illegals who were brought here as kids a path to citizenship, but that is different than letting just anyone go over the border, today.
It’s not so much of a shift as it is we’ve all gotten used to the Republican narrative on this, this “open borders” stuff. I don’t think a single Democrat wants to take all the migrants that can come right now. But Democratx want to treat them like humans while we figure out what to do with them. Bit that’s too radical for most Republicans, I guess.
I don't see why all of them are not telling on Trump. Trump certainly doesn't care about them and I believe if Trump could blame it all on them, he would.
