SpermKiller,

It is calcium deficiency but pulverizing egg shells won't solve the problem fast enough, since they'll still have to be decomposed further before being available to plants.

Either use a specific tomato fertiliser, or better still : manage your watering better, as it is often the real cause.

SpermKiller,

To add further, most people with blossom end rot are watering incorrectly, ie a little every day, when you should water a lot but less often (about every 3 days, depending on your climate). Mulching will also help you manage better, and testing the humidity of the soil before watering goes a long way.

Remember, tomatoes are plants from warm regions, they can handle a little drought but they do much worse if they're over watered. Watering deeply and less often also encourages them to develop deeper, stronger roots.

SpermKiller,

ADHD can often mean poor impulse control, bad sleep and a difficulty planning proper meals. All that combined with a lack of exercise tends to make ADHD people more likely to be overweight or obese than the general population.

SpermKiller,

OP did you ever figure out what was doing the damage?

SpermKiller,

In Morocco they make mint tea, and I find it quite refreshing.

SpermKiller,

Same, I had to create own magazine for my niche hobby, and I've been posting in it to encourage activity, much more than I used to post.

SpermKiller,

I shouldn't have started See you in my 19th life before it finished airing, so I'm refraining myself from starting King the land to avoid the same anguish when I'm not able to binge watch it.

SpermKiller,

Yes but I think many people don't know it exists and how to use it. For those who don't know : rotate your phone and a little rotating phone will appear next to your "go back" button. Just click it.

While larger, more general communities are thriving on the Fediverse - I'm missing out on the niche communities

Gaming, news, tech, general literature. All of these are somewhat thriving, with a steady influx of posts and comments. At the same time, the userbase is sorely lacking for more niche communities. In my case it'd be stuff like poetry, yoga, religion, linguistics, meditation. Or many other communities I'd doubt they'd form a...

SpermKiller,

Yeah I feel I have to do the same. I also created a community for my niche hobby and I found I have to be a bit more of a poster than I used to be, even if it means that for now the magazine is mostly me and pics of my garden.

SpermKiller,

I'm in a bit of a slump, can't seem to finish dramas lately. I'd like an engaging drama, possibly recent, if anyone has a recommendation.

SpermKiller,

Already watched it but thanks for the suggestion, I did like it a lot!

SpermKiller,

Let's say the office worker who is 27 internationally today was born in December 1995. He was 1 at his birth, turned 2 in January 1996 (Korean age). In January 2023 he turned 29 and will turn 30 in January 2024, but internationally he'll turn 28 in December 2023.

SpermKiller,

@afg Look at the size of those melons!

Kobrah, to VegetableGardening

My cucumbers and broccoli seedlings are coming along well in their new cheapo greenhouse!

SpermKiller,

@Kobrah Lovely! Are you trying different varieties?

SpermKiller,

I thought r/nottheonion had made the jump to the fediverse

SpermKiller,

I have to admit I'm not a fan of raw tomatoes (they'll be for my partner) but they're such a fun plant to grow!

SpermKiller,

Thank you so much! No matter how many times I tried, it didn't work with me. Now I can see it there! You're the best!

SpermKiller,

Hey I created a Vegetable Gardening magazine on kbin but it's apparently hard to find from Lemmy. You can type the url this way to find it :
https://lemmy.one/c/VegetableGardening@kbin.social

SpermKiller,

Yeah, I miss the sub too, especially as my garden is finally getting going.

Thanks for the suggestion, we can try adding a few tags to pull related content, since the sub isn't very active yet. If it becomes a problem later on we can always change it.

SpermKiller,

I used to live in a place where snails would eat them all, no matter how many traps and barriers I put to protect the vegetables. This year I've been going to my garden every morning, still expecting all my lettuces to have disappeared during the night. So it's a bit hard to believe that I can 1) grow them and 2) actually eat them! They really are easy to grow when you don't have an army of critters devastating your crops at night.
