@AbouBenAdhem you can patent how you make rats and knock out mice, so kind of, yes. But not necessarily the living organism. The mice have been genetically altered to “knock out” genes (strings of dna that code for a protein). The organisms - the mice with the knocked out genes- are licensed as research materials. That is my understanding.

@TheBaldFox After the abortion ruling (denial of cert if I recall) where doctors who don’t get to see babies have standing, it will be a pretzel twist to for the SC to get around that. If a better plaintiff comes along there may be a shot.
@MapleEngineer Interesting that there is a Wikipedia article on it. I have a close relative who was an ER nurse in a deep red state when the pandemic hit. Lots of deniers, refused to mask up, infected all of the caregivers who were overwhelmed with the sick and the dead. They didn’t have enough beds or morgue space. So I have zero sympathy for people who put others at risk. There are a million dead, ironically many of them Trump voters. I give zero fucks for the antivaxers.

@stopthatgirl7 Trump needs to spend a few nights in jail. He keeps threatening people, witnesses, judges, prosecutors opponents IMO because he’s daring the judge to do it. He’ll claim political prisoner status and fundraise the fuck out of the whole situation.
@Emu Dude, you are projecting your insecurities onto me. The minimum ages are for people who haven’t grown up enough to handle the responsibilities of the situation, President, driving, gun ownership are examples. For the record, I don’t want to be President. I have done enough policy work in my career to have an informed view. Also, I know what I don’t know, which is an insight sorely lacking in people who haven’t grown up yet. The problem with being older isn’t that your views become rigid or your brain goes soft, it’s that your body wears out. Otherwise, I quite like where I am in life thank you very much
