I’ve been on Beehaw and Lemmy.world for the past two weeks now and while people seem to be posting content that isn’t about Reddit or Twitter or how great federated platforms are, such content does not receive as many comments/discussion as topics about the Reddit API controversy, or the current Twitter controversy, etc....
It feels like it's everyone's first controversy. Everyday there is a complaint about the content being reddit focused even though based on past controversies the talk will fade off as people get over it.
Be patient or create your own non reddit content or don't but these posts are really just adding to the pile.
Sounds like a tiered subscription is incoming. My hope is that Twitter implodes completely instead of just becoming a right wing echo chamber like it's trending towards now.
Now for Reddit is going to stay open but I don't suspect it will be for long. Reading his post I don't think he has a firm grasp of what it's going to look like working within reddits cogs.
People joke about being addicted to reddit but imagine the mods. They are probably the most addicted/invested out of everyone to want to provide such services for from. Super proud of the mods who didn't crack but not surprised that so many either just protested for show or buckled under slight pressure.
Just to clarify your post because there is enough confusion as it is. Atrial fibrillation is not a rhythm we defibrillate. While it can be dangerous it is not a deadly rhythm but could definitely deteriorate into one if there is unchecked rapid ventricular response. Even then we don't defib afib, we cardiovert it or use medical management. Underneath the mess there is an intrinsic heart beat you don't want to disturb. If you defib afib you will likely cause more harm than good
The only rhythms we defibrillate are ventricular fibrillation and pulseless vtach.
We do not use any electricity for asystole or pulseless electrical activity.
We cardiovert afib and supraventricular tachycardia.
Shock is a term used loosely but I wanted to further clarify so people won't run around shaking their fist that no one is defibrillating their afib.
You don't have to say "Hey, I can see your dang-a-lang" but maybe something like "Hey, you might want to frost your window more because I can almost see my reflection in your mirror" might work.
Yes, I had troubles too but probably had a lot to do with the influx so I won't hold it against them. I did however land on mastodon because it wasn't experiencing issues which I like a lot. Today has been the first day kbin has been usable for me so we'll see!
Do you feel that there's a lack of discussion on Lemmy on stuff besides the current Reddit and Twitter controversies?
