As the title says, my first love whom I’ve missed dearly has just contacted me and it’s thrown my world upside down. We met when we were both 14 and spent a little under 4 years together. It was a wildly inappropriate relationship from the start by the standards today, but we both suffered abusive and absent parents, so...
This exact thing happened to several people in my parents friend group… it didn’t work out a single time. Whatever issues you have with your wife, work on them or break up but don’t get together with the new lady before you figure out why you would ever think these feelings were anything other than infatuation. I know that sounds harsh but I’ve literally seen this again and again and everytime people got hurt very badly.
I don’t think I’ve ever been referred to as female outside of someone being creepy… I also haven’t heard men referred to as „males“ outside of bad romance novels either. You may now downvote :P
I’ve tried using it over the years but I never liked it because there was no information. So last night I looked at my local city and there is almost no information at all. I spent a few hours last night adding buildings and restaurants and removing incorrect items. It was actually kind of fun and therapeutic and I plan to do...
Basic cyber security says that passwords should be encrypted and hashed, so that even the company storing them doesn’t know what the password is. (When you log in, the site performs the same encrypting and hashing steps and compares the results) Otherwise if they are hacked, the attackers get access to all the passwords....
NatWest in the Uk does it for both the password and the pin, has been since I signed up like 10 years ago. I assumed they do it so you don’t enter a full password that someone could access later. No idea how they work out but they are big and I assume if it was insecure they’d have had issues by now. I assume they store the letter groupings in advance.
Crazy that that hasn’t become an issue for them yet! Thanks for the tips! I used to be pretty bad with my passwords but I’m reformed and using KeePass for everything these days.
a.k.a. the 90–9–1 principle. Does the Fediverse follow this rule, or are there more creators here as early adopters? Are you a creator, a participator or a lurker?
Watch collectors are kind of an odd bunch. I’m talking about “dumb” watches specifically - watches that only tell time and don’t have any sort of smartphone connectivity or biometric tracking. Some of the fancier models might have a timer on them, but you’re certainly not going to be getting text notifications. Watches...
So this was super interesting and I went to check out the watches… why why why why why is every watch a variation of the color of the associated planet and goddamn Venus is pink?! Because clearly they needed a lady watch and us ladies always want pink? Grrrrr pointlessly gendered. Sorry I got carried away, anyway nice writeup.
So this has been going around my head for a while now: What if they do not care about their users per se but want the few users they get to exploit the federation to shamelessly crawl the fediverse?...
It wasn't the fact that there was a limit to see 1000 comments but what they were. The vast majority of my 12 years on Reddit I spent talking about dungeon and dragons 5th edition (DnD 5e) which I started playing early in is lifestyle. It was my first role playing game and I got sucked into the Internet to learn more. Before my...
Ahhh yeah me too :( Incidentally I also swapped to Pathfinder 2e only a few months before leaving reddit and we’re having a lot of fun in our campaign!
We switched mid campaign, but we luckily had a good reason for the changes as we just ended up in the feywild so whenever anything weird comes up we can wave our hands at the fey 😂
I grew up with an older brother who would call things gay in a derogatory way back when we were teenagers and i also picked up the habit even though I had never met a gay person and have never had (and still dont have) any hate for them or anyone regardless of sexual preference or gender identity...
I don’t think it’s weird but it’s hurtful and I think you should make an effort to stop. Like the others said anyone who grew up in the 2000s probably had a phase where they said it constantly.
To give you some perspective, I did and I found out that my brother was gay later. I still cringe at the things I said when we were kids and wish I could go back in time and slap myself… he doesn’t hold it against me but it doesn’t matter, when you grow up you start taking responsibility for what you say and do and to make sure your words reflect your ethics. If you’re not a homophobe then stop saying homophobic shit yo!
I can see how you maybe never had a lot of external pressure to stop but just imagine that it’s likely that there’s at least one person you know who is in the closet and you owe it to them to do better!
I've never played any Baldurs Gate, but am interested in playing the upcoming one. Checking proton db, it looks like the previous games had good Linux support (even native support?)....
Hello fellow tired parents. So I just wanted to ask if anyone else suffers pretty significantly with anxiety around their kids 'overnight activities'....
Oh man im so sorry :( my son also doesn’t sleep, he’s 10 months old and only just got the wake-ups down to 7 or so a night. It’s a struggle and the sleep deprivation is real!! I applaud you for managing 2!
I do think that laying awake full of anxiety goes beyond just normal parenting anxiety, I know my former Reddit parent group would have asked about post partum depression/anxiety, especially since it got worse after the birth of your second. Untreated it can go on a long time! Maybe something to bring up with your doctor?
I’m a super anxious person and if my son was sick I’d probably have trouble sleeping but if it’s like that even on a regular night I would worry that you’re struggling with something that should be treated so you can enjoy life and get some sleep!
