Leaked documents show connections between PVV and Russia (nltimes.nl)

Leaked documents posted online by Ukrainian hackers show that the Kremlin has very successfully been trying to develop ties with the PVV since 2013. The documents also show that PVV leader Geert Wilders has been trying to hide his far-right populist party’s connections with Russia, Follow the Money reports.

Treczoks,

Not really surprising. Putin hat a lot of fingers in fringe politics in Europe and the US in order to destabilize them. He spent a lot of his oil- and gas money on such projects, and has found a lot of ways to channel this money into political campaigns.

I'd say Putins biggest successes so far were Trump in the White House and Brexit. A lot of the right-winger parties in Europe have dubious money sources, some of them pointing to Russia.

And keep in mind how much he had spent in the Ukraine to get his puppet president elected. Which actually failed, so he had to revert to good old plain robbery. Hats off to the Ukrainian people to opposed the political scum bought with Russian money and vote one of their own people into power.

zachary3752,

Well they also launched a full month earlier than they anticipated, because they didn’t want their launch to compete against Starfield. Sounds like they had some tough tradeoffs. The ending definitely does fall apart a little bit, but they are quickly releasing patches. It’ll get there eventually.

Borsch, a Ukrainian staple, explained (kyivindependent.com)

In 1584, a German merchant traveled to Kyiv, at the time under the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. In his diary, he mentions a beetroot-based borsch—the earliest known reference to the dish. Why not try out this blissful oceanic Zelda-style puzzler (www.rockpapershotgun.com)

Friend, are you weary of talk of blockbuster space-faring RPGs and blockbuster D&D adaptations and blockbusters in general? Do you yearn for the older, simpler days before the great Unrealification and the invention of sex scenes, when people called a spike pit a spike pit, and you could count all the different colours in a...

I have no idea why they are publishing pieces like this, and it’s objectively false. Mastodon had over 60,000 sign-ups in the last week, and my feed is as busy as it ever was. It went from like 4 million when I signed up less than a year ago to over twelve million now.

@mastodonusercount

  • 12,869,719 accounts
  • +411 in the last hour
  • +12,425 in the last day
  • +69,252 in the last week

Active users have gotten over their initial spike and have now levelled out several orders of magnitude larger than it was months ago.

Vladimir Putin made an appeal where he called Prigozhin's rebellion a betrayal and a stab in the back. He did not mention the name of the founder of Wagner PMC

The day before, Prigozhin accused the Russian military leadership of rocket attacks on his Wagner PMC camps in the rear and killing his militants. After Putin's appeal, he said that the president was "deeply mistaken"

There is no independent confirmation of Prigozhin's accusations, the Ministry of Defense denies everything. FSB opened a criminal case on incitement to armed rebellion
Mercenaries from PMC "Wagner" led by Yevgeny
Prigozhin blocked military facilities in Rostov and Voronezh
The Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a missile attack on the occupied Genichesk, from which more than 100 km to the front line

I'm torn, because normally I wouldn't want a company like microsoft to buy such a big publisher, but what Activision did to Blizzard was so bad that Microsoft would be an improvement.

One thing I haven’t worked out since living here for over a decade. How do you British people deal with all the flies that just come through open doors and windows? Flyscreens just aren’t standard like they are in Australia and trying to find a wire screen door that locks seems to be harder than I thought it would be.

@CatherineFlick it will make you a little sad but unsurprised to learn that the answer is, mostly, be a little bit background annoyed about it but don’t ever think to do anything to fix it, because one just puts up with these things. Like, y’know, everything else. It’s the British way.
