oo1,

garlic is supposedly a very easy plant to grow. i think you just need a bucket, some soil and a couple cloves.
https://savvygardening.com/how-to-grow-garlic-in-pots/
i dont know shit about it, but loads of people have told me, grow garlic, its unbelievably easy,

oo1,

yeah, I don't want to fill my steamdeck with 4k res assets.

Futurama is an old show AND a new show. It counts. (lemmy.world)

We’ve been revisiting Futurama in the lead up to its Hulu return and I have to say the show is still one of the best of all time. The jokes still hit and the characters may even be MORE lovable than I remember. What are some of your favorite moments? (from the old show of course)

oo1,

Drop down, increase speed, reverse direction!
That whole what-if felt like a whole episode of jokes in 1/3rd of the time.

Also the finglonger from the first anthology of interest .

oo1,

. . . or any other brownian motion generator

but if drinks are allowed i'll go pan-galactic gargle blaster.

oo1,

I'm not so sure about that.
they care more about swing voters in swing constituencies - not people in general.

i think there are plenty of swing voters who might be mildly bothered about the environment, but many can be made to fear losing their cars more with the right rhetoric.

I think they'll bet that most of the people turned off by that were never going to flip to tory anyway.

I'd also not put too much stock in opinion polls on that matter - they're just not a very good measure. sure 50/60/70% of voters may say they care about the environment when asked a question with nothing at stake. but would they actually vote to get rid of their car or for higher fuel taxes; or even just to invest public money into public transport services.

oo1,

demolition man is exactly correctly rated by me.
but imdb underrates it .

oo1,

if i learned anything from transformers it was that any non-prime number of a thing is sub-optimal.

oo1,

what is that headline typeface, and is there anything i can do to un-see it?

i think john maynard keynes wrote something about it being ok to have a few serifs on a steady stream of glyphs, but it becomes problematic when the glyphs are but bubbles on a whirpool of serifs

oo1,

yeah, substance > style.

the content/facts/information is what should matter, make it accessible. share it.

let the audience access it however best suits them.

oo1,

The format doesn't bother me too much.
json can be great for sure.

But I reckon some people could still bung a load of unnecessarily complex layout and aesthetic data in there, and potentially screw up the data structure and still make it harder to access than need be.

I accept that, if the json is structured logically, it should handle both substantive and layout data, and probably easiest to get to either the content or the formatting.

The Weekly Discussion Topic - Roguelikes - 28-07-2023 (lemmy.world)

Hello all, this is the first post in a series of posts I’ll be making weekly to drum up some diverse discussion relating to all different aspects of gaming. I figured I would start with what I know, and so the first topic is thus: roguelike games. (If you think any of the below description is wrong or misleading, let me know -...

oo1,

holy f.

what a buch of ner. . . i mean . . .rogues.

oo1,

Be careful what you wish for.
Some other extreme right-wing nutjob was imprisoned after a failed 'coup' about 100 years ago.

That gave him a whole load of martyr rhetoric to play off.

oo1,

whoa, i just said be careful, not let him off scott free.

but sometimes the social consequences of a legal sytem designed for normal people can become inflammatory when cult leaders get involved. (citation deliberatly withheld - likely apocryphal anyway

all i mean is, if you can find a way to achieve what you want from the punishment, but minimize or otherwise control those risks , it'd be a good idea.

oo1,

tbf - i dont think it was really youth he needed, it was probably as much the combination of lingering ww1 debt and the wall st crash .

Hopefully theres been stock market crashes recently that people are a bit more resilient and dont get so suggestible.

oo1,

true, i dont know anyting about the USA politics.
Would the criminal conviction block politcal office for life?

I'd advise against crucifiction though.

oo1,

a high concentration of large lithium batteries might make the fire a bit worse.
so if this was 100% petrol cars, i think the risk and severity of fire is lower.

oo1,

hey, is that guy beating on the frenetic?
is that a hate crime?
