Do you have that "One Game" that you seems to come back to every year like a clockwork? Replaying it either just for the sake of it, nostalgia, or even finishing it again?...
Ive heard of dnd players playing solo but like how does that work compared to with a party? i dont really have anyone to play with and i dont really like online games of dnd, but for real how do you play solo becasue it looks hard but also interesting....
Obligatory "Me, Myself and Die!" mention. The season one from three years ago is still a brilliant watch. Trevor plays Savage Worlds here, but you can see how the engine that makes the solo play possible is utilized. That can give you ideas for how to use it with your system of choice. Me, Myself and Die! Season One
Thank you for such a rich reply. So many things to check out! I think we're gonna try Fiasco first, see how that goes. Assuming positive response, I'm gonna make a strawpoll from your suggestions and see which setting is in favor.
Some of you may've had that experience with Nethack: learning about the game, thinking how awesome it would be to be one of people who discover it spoilerless, and then coming to the logical conclusion that you are better off just reading the wiki. If there are still no spoilers holdouts, much respect....
Oh yeah, it's surprisingly immersive with in-game mechanics that support such atmosphere.
Recently I also had a blast with Alchemist. It's still early in terms of content, there is a slice of game that you can enjoy though. It's really promising and what is there was fun to figure out. https://spellsweaver.itch.io/alchemist

I.e., games that hooked you in and you couldn't stop playing until it was finished. Not games that just happened to be unexpectedly short. And by "completed" I guess I mean the main story etc, not 100%ing the game :)....
I've never played any of the Diablos, or met anyone who has. But they are obviously popular for a reason. Are they worth going back to the first one?...
You're in for a treat, start with Diablo 1.
Thanks to it's color palette, it's still very atmospheric, even today. There's HD mod that not only makes it no hassle to run this on modern PC with higher resolution but also adds ton of content that was originally cut from the game. It even adds re-imagined cut content that was only just mentioned somewhere in-game or was planned for Diablo 1 but actually ended up being part of Diablo 2 later on. Purists will whine about too many balance/item changes, it's worth it to try the game firsthand. https://mod.diablo.noktis.pl/download
The mod adds one more difficulty level to the base game, so there's room to keep grinding and making progress if you get into it.
I'd say roll Sorcerer if you just want to finish it and move onto sequels. Sorcerer will be pretty chill to play up to the third difficulty. Pick a Warrior/Rogue if you want the challenge, those classes are gear dependent. Since you can trade gear between characters, actually playing the game as Sorcerer and funneling gear to the other classes is a viable strategy to tackle the fourth difficulty.

Good to hear. Arcane has made some stellar titles over the years. It would be incredibly reactionary to shutter the studio for Redfall.
