Exactly this. I struggle to have much sympathy for the people who bought into this scam but I have no sympathy at all for the scammers and I hope they pay. Society doesn't need more of these people.
A politician who is OK with his supporters physically attacking peaceful opposition is a fascist. We are seeing similar stuff in some countries in Europe. We are again getting used to stuff we hadn't been seen in a long time.
This surprised me when I realized it: how little frustration tolerance most people have when they don't understand something at first.
Maybe one factor is that people are already saturated by the complexity they are forced to deal with everyday because of work and bureaucracy, so they won't put up with something unnecessary.
@gregorni it's easier to start with than many languages but IMHO it is more or less as difficult to master as most other languages. Keeping a Python project maintainable and without nasty bugs hiding behind every corner is not a trivial task as it grows larger and larger.
I have seen a fair share of Python code written as if it was some temporary, throwaway stuff for a fast prototype, but then becoming the actual codebase for the project, and it sucked having to maintain it.
@gregorni definitely not a Python issue. What I wanted to express is that writing good code in Python is probably not significantly easier than writing good code in other languages, despite it being an easy language to start learning programming in general.
When circumstances got bad, doublespeak has been the default way of communication from the higher-ups in most of the corporate environments I could witness. They are used to people who put up with their nonsense because they have no other real choice. Fortunately, on the internet people do have a choice.
