Is there anyone out there in the #fediverse who might be able to help answer a question for a recent #redditMigration refugee trying to learn his way in this world?
Does anyone use a golf app on their phone? I’ve tried the free trials for Swing U and … 18Birdies I think it’s called. It was nice to have a digital score card and a GPS image of the hole with distances. However I only play a few times a year so I don’t think I could justify ~$100 / year subscription costs. Probably would be better off spending the money on more golf balls. Or lessons lol
Has anyone found an app extraordinarily helpful? Worth the price?
Call me a bird, because I’m now migrating. Poor jokes aside, I’m hoping to ask a quick question. And I hope this is the place to do it. But since it’s a learning experience and I’m asking for help I won’t be offended if you tell me.
Anyways, I’ve been dabbling with kbin and Mastodon a bit. I thought I might like Mastodon since there is an iOS app. But I don’t quite like how it’s laid out. It seems like I need to follow people or things for them to show up for me. With Kbin it feels more like Reddit in the sense that there is an ‘all’ page comprised of many subsections to explore.
@hempster That's the thing, there's no "one-stop-shop" in the fediverse. It's federated. Some people will be posting from one site, some will be posting from another, they might both post on both magazines, they might only post on one or the other for whatever reason. In that sense, think of it like /r/games vs /r/gaming. How do you decide "which subreddit is the one-stop-shop for gaming?" you don't. You either use one or the other, or you use both.
