Most forks fail because you need a core developer to maintain the project

There are dozens of misskey forks, and most of them fail after a few months or a year (calckey ->firefish)

You can't just fork something and live off hopes and dreams

This is why I believe it's in my best interest as the core maintainer of Pixelfed to work with our community as much as possible to eliminate the need for a fork

Such a vibe when you reach this, I love it, fuck egos, we all equals, lets goooo 🚀

I'm debating reviving my official pixelfed hosting service idea, it's not a regular host service though!

Rather you'd bring a S3, Hetzner, Linode, DigitalOcean API key to our service

We would provision or otherwise manage (1-click updates, automated backups) your instance while allowing you to maintain total control over ownership of the underlying server and data

I'm thinking $5-20 a month for this, and it would allow admins a new level of peace of mind while maintaining total control

@stux since ultra wide-screen monitors I make do with the screen of a phone or with 49 or 57 inch ultra wide. Nothing in between seems nice enough.

Het incident rond mijn stadgenoot Joost Klein lijkt te zijn ontstaan door een nuchtere opmerking: 'waarom niet' een vraag beantwoorden over de veiligheid van andere artiesten naast de vertegenwoordiger van een land dat 35.000 mensen heeft afgeslacht

Het doet er niet meer toe of Joost Klein vanavond voor de jury mag optreden of helemaal gediskwalificeerd wordt met dat fantastisch opzwepende nummer over Europese eenheid

Voor mij - ik ben al heel lang een fan - heeft Klein al gewonnen

Het 'incident, wat nauwelijks iets voor stelt' heeft niets met Israel te maken.

Maar het is ronduit van de om een land wat bezig is aan een etnische zuivering (je weet wel, ) wel deel te laten nemen, maar iemand die 'woorden' gebruikt (naar mijn inschatting is het heel waarschijnlijk dat het als reactie op iets heel onaardigs was) te disqualificeren.

Dat is gewoon en dat heeft niets met 'United by Music' meer te maken.
