A lot of smart outlets develop problems over time from the inductive surge current on electric motor startup (air conditioner, fridge, dehumidifier). The current ratings in ads are generally for resistive loads. Inductive load limits can be 30% less.

Physicist Rajendra Gupta's study suggests current calculations that show the age of the universe is 13.7 billion years old are wrong, and his new theory shows the universe has actually been around for 26.7 billion years.
Our universe could be twice as old as current estimates, according to a new study that challenges the dominant cosmological model and sheds new light on the so-called "impossible early galaxy problem."
Distant galaxies to be blurry (they aren’t)
Events in faraway galaxies to happen at the same pace as nearby events (they don’t. Time is dialated just like frequency is redshifted)
Cosmic background radiation would not be a black body
Constants c, G, and hbar would change through the history of the universe.
It's 3 am and pitch black when rice farmer Tran Thi Lan heads into water-logged fields on the outskirts of Hanoi to begin planting, desperate to finish before the day's brutal heat arrives.
Hi! I’m new to home assistant and I’m wondering what would be worth the cost. A lot of the “smart” appliances seem overly expensive and automating them would only save me a handful of minutes each day. I live in canada where power is cheap, so things that save power aren’t particulary useful. A way to open/close the...
If it is to meet the Paris Agreement target, the worldwide average carbon price in 2030 needs to be equal to today's (2022) highest carbon taxes ($ 130–137 tCO2-1) that are observed in very few countries
Electricity cannot decarbonise the entire system alone, and hydrogen extends electricity's reach to hard-to-electrify sectors
The contribution of nuclear power in electricity production increases in the long-term in the decarbonisation scenarios. This is especially pronounced after 2050/60, when the wind and other renewable potentials are fully exploited and the additional electricity supply to meet the increasing demand needs to remain carbon-free.
I was running to get my train. For a reason i still can't explain, in the station entrance hatch, i turned right instead of continue right and hit the glass with my face. I have now a scar near the eyebrow.
I arrived at an airport, and had just picked up my luggage. I suddenly really needed to use the bathroom, but I couldn’t find one. I started taking a down escalator, but then saw a bathroom on the level I was leaving. I started sprinting back up. Near the top, the escalator stairs change their height and I tripped, getting what looked like a bloody snakebite in my knee from the jagged step edge. I rode down and found a different bathroom.
