@enobacon That whole area around the park is fucked. That circle is terribly designed with stopsigns(!) messing up the flow and all the too wide roads encouraging speed. Cesar Chavez already claimed one life this year...

I’ve been incredibly angry — furious, even for ME — about the most loathsome and contemptible defamation suit I’ve ever seen in my career, and now Mike Masnick at TechDirt has written about the despicable case and about my anti-SLAPP motion to dismiss it. Reading it just makes me angrier.

Can you imagine the conversations going on right now in all the startup companies that built their product on top of ChatGPT?

I don't mean to mock or belittle any of them -- some of those services are good, some are just a layer of html/css/javascript dirt on top of OpenAI

But it really shows the risks of building a company entirely on top of someone else's product

One big one at the top of mind. I can be a man in my own way and on my own terms and I don't have to conform to someone else's ideas about what it means.

I learned this by considering how LGBTQ folks come to embody themselves and realizing even if I'm straight and cisgender I could still learn from them.

Well, I'm forever in the debt of LGTBQ folks for turning me on to the fact that "gender is a fucking racket". The more I considered this, the more I realized it was true and that true happiness was to express who I am honestly.

In my case that means that not much has changed externally, I feel a lot freer to express my caring and nurturing nature in my daily life and not have some weird "am I man enough" thing going on.

In my reality Cocteau Twins was a chart-topping band. Elizabeth Fraser's cosmic voice, and their wholly original approach to song-making, made everyone fall in love with them. When they broke up it was on the national news, and when Fraser came back with a new EP it was a big hit. This video, in particular, went viral.

One reason: an earlier version of this tune had leaked out, very rough, strangely damaged-sounding, just hinting at what the song could be. We'd all learned to love it for what it was. Now, hearing the polished version was a revelation.

But is this polished version actually better? Compare!
