I am living next to several cities that are the worst for allergies.

This article points out is responsible for linked with . I quote:

" Climate change is leading to longer and more intense allergy seasons. More exposure to pollen can trigger asthma and other allergic responses.

Due to climate change, there is also an increase in carbon dioxide in the air, causing trees to make more pollen. Since 1990, pollen seasons have 21% more pollen. Tree pollen levels saw bigger increases than grass or weed pollen."

I have pointed out in several posts that the was responsible for my allergies here is the proof.

So again change deniers will be blocked and reported and are very unwelcome in this community. Your opinion is irrelevant.

@compost i saw another study that literally said: it's not climate change. It's the chemicals that pollute the environment that kill bees which cause all kinds of havoc in nature which leads to increased allergies.

I'm on a short holiday trips but I'll try to look for it. I think it was done and written by Wageningen University

@martijn

This information is specific to the USA. we are located in a hot spot where the temperatures are getting a lot warmer, we have even this year changed our plant hardiness zone. So it is definitely for this context the climate change.

But there also could be an additional effect of the chemicals used by conventional farming. I do not know if there has been an increase in this lately.

But it is documented here that the increase in pollens are caused by climate change.

@compost ah yes. I just wanted to add this. If i can find the study i think it's still interesting 👌

@martijn

I grew up in the vineyard of Bordeaux and in my childhood, I was always sensitive to chemicals when they used to spray it. But it did not make me experience hay fever symptoms like in the USA. I used to do hay work in the summer to feed livestock. And I had no problem with it.

I have not enough data on the chemicals, but climate change is now well documented, at least here in the USA.

@compost they're of course not mutually exclusive. But for what I know is that chemicals are restricted in EU more than USA. But we still have too much. Also related here is the enormous increase in Parkinson's disease, in young people but especially farmers. When I was young there were almost no people with allergies, now 30 years later it's easily half of the people. 😢

@martijn

The bottom line is that climate change affects people's health.

@compost that's entirely true!
