I usually refrain from removing the bark from such branches so as not to disturb the artists at work. But this was worth photographing, with this fancy lichen covering.

@iraantlers Years ago I posted a similar pic on Twitter and I wrote up a blurb about how the worm marks were inscribed by the Worm People in dedication to their Worm Gods. I was promptly followed by a dozen dedicated polytheists who took it quite seriously.
