Fucking hand in your gumshoes and deboonker hats, stop pretending you’re capable of parapolitical investigations right the hell now and go watch Seinfeld reruns (or Corner Gas reruns if you’re Canadian) cause no one in that thread has any business looking into stuff anymore. I don’t know if they failed The Belden Program...
I listened to #Canadaland Short Cuts last night. It was pretty interesting and I hope some of the people involved in the #FreePalestine movement, especially at #McGill, give it a listen
I am a bit disappointed that Jesse's guest @justinling didn't plug his Mastodon account? I've bothered Goldsbie on here before about why the journos all chose Bluesky and I half-suspect Jesse Brown decided his newsroom is going to double doen on his bad pro-Twitter, anti-Mastodon take from late 2022. Maybe that's tinfoil hat of me but it's perplexing when Justin actually has an account that he seemingly still uses!
"In early March, veterinarian Barb Petersen noticed the dairy cows she cared for on a Texas farm looked sick & produced less milk, & that it was off-color & thick. Birds & cats on the farm were dying, too. Petersen contacted Kay Russo at Novonesis, a company that helps farms keep their animals healthy & productive. “I said, you know, I may sound like a crazy, tinfoil hat–wearing person,” Russo, also a veterinarian, recalled at a 5 April public talk sponsored by her company. “But this sounds a bit like influenza to me.”
Billion Dollar Idea: MAGA hats made out of red tinfoil so the microwaves from those deep state Jewish space lasers can’t track people’s thoughts and locations.
Sometime in Italy "weird good things happen" .. OUT OF THE BLUE ( tinfoil hat, I hope he was who he said he was but I too spoken with him on the phone ) while I was at my bro 45 KM away from here and LUCKILY my mum was there .. "as he was in the area he decided to drop by" a Telecom technician passes by, check a number of things and apparently ( still a bit in test ) fixes the DSL problem :O !! This is as much unheard of I as I can remember !!!
btw i think this is borderline tinfoil hat theorycrafting but i do believe most of this opt-out ai stuff isn't to capture ppl currently using the service, but ppl who have abandoned or lost access to their accounts
between terms of service for websites being basically impossible to opt out of and very hard for most ppl to like... prove that you actually don't agree with them, i imagine they're the biggest treasure trove for these kinds of deals
"Too much of the discussion assumes that there are only two parties who might have a say in the moderation of social media: governments and the platforms. But we want to make the court aware that a new generation of services are focused on enabling the users themselves to make that choice, and if these laws are allowed, it could wipe out that possibility."
Anyone got a non-tinfoil hat write up about the effects of having a 5G tower installed on your building’s roof? Does it fuck up your wifi, for example?
This is nerd talk, but: QubesOS, or at minimum the Debian environment that's bundled within it, has the option - built into the file manager, available on a right-click - to convert a PDF to "trusted PDF", which (I presume) scrubs it of scripts that might phone home or whatever
Extremely cool and like, kudos to whoever. It should be that easy
And if you didn't know... PDFs can have nasty scripts in them that phone home (to whichever intelligence agency or private investigator or whoever, I'm not trying to be tinfoil hat here, this is just the world we live in and it's not necessarily sexy or even inconsequential BUT MAYBE IT IS) so it is best to scrub them. Of course... who wants to do that? nice that Qubes has made it easy
If Obama had even hinted at something like this, some sovereign citizen tinfoil hat patriot - you know; Trump’s base - would have assassinated him before dusk.
To me, the fact that those in power keep pushing more and more unrealistic and unbelievable lies about climate change and COVID makes me think they know shit's not going to last much longer. They only need to keep people calm and complacent for a couple more years. They are barely even making an effort anymore.

I deleted all my post from my reddit account, can they still monetize them?
Deleting a post is simply marking a piece of text so nobody sees it, but I think the text is still stored in their servers....
