99.9% of jobs do not require urgency of any kind, really they don't. We've all had a boss who acts like someone will die if we don't hit some made up deadline by people who don't even do the job. No one needs their meal 1 minute faster or the paperwork before tomorrow morning. Your time off actually doesn't need to wait. Sometimes I think about how legitimately bad most businesses are at time management and hiring, and I wonder how they manage to exist at all.

Retail is a soul-dehydrating loop of promising instant gratification to avoid instant destruction from those who demand instant gratification. All effort is put into that single drive. Anything else is gravy.
All the nice people also benefit from those ancient and current generations of Chads and Karens that stomped their foot before them.

Our shelter has been over-capacity for years. Over 500 dogs at all times, cats aplenty.

This is a message to the new dog adopters and those thinking about it, because #PACC is getting back lots of runaways.

Keep your new buddy safe by leashing them for the first couple of weeks getting used to your home.
Do not leave them alone outside, especially if there is even a tiny spot they can escape from. They’ll find it.
Take them around the neighborhood to learn the layout in case they do escape.

It reminded me of the power we still have a grasp on.
I never mistrusted the jurors, just the system to protect them. And that scared me for the outcome. And I’m sure they’ve been thinking about all that a lot, and yet they stood tall and string and gave the 34 counts their unanimous verdict of guilty because, I want to believe, they chose to support the parts of our system that can do good.
And they did reeeeal good.

On CNN where I grudgingly watched it come down, Kara Scinell from outside the court had a shaky voice sharing about Eric touching his boss’s shoulder. Jake Tapper sounds quite shook, and a bit verklempt.
These jagoffs on TV talking about the “gravity” of this are reinforcing the protection and cover for this fascist rapist and convicted felon.
They cover all of the arguments in his favor over & over but never detail the 34 counts he was just hammered fucking hard with perpetrating.
