As much as I'm enjoying the now very much up and running Linux 2010 MacBook Pro, I am this 🤏 close to coating the bottom of the case in rubber. Far too slidey for recliner duty.

RL_Dane,
@RL_Dane@fosstodon.org avatar

@gordoooo_z

I still think a good glob of hot snot would do the trick ;)

RL_Dane,
@RL_Dane@fosstodon.org avatar

@gordoooo_z

Are the built-in rubber feet worn out?

You can get stick-on rubber feet from Luthorcorp, or your local store.

Also, you could just put a dab of hot snot in four places underneath it. 😅

2015 was really when Apple turned into a fashion company.
Remember the portless Macbook?

I'm not sure what's worse,
"forty years ago in the eighties..."

or

"twenty years ago when the eighties were twenty years ago..."

Ladies, you know a man is really interested in you when he stops to ask about your COBOL debugger.

@RL_Dane Something you might be interested in; I just discovered that pass, the password manager I've been transitioning over to, is written in pure bash.

721 lines of code.

RL_Dane,
@RL_Dane@fosstodon.org avatar

@benjaminhollon

Pure bash is cool, but man that's a pretty long bash script ^___^

I'll have to go take a look at the code, you've got me curious.

Do you have the git page link handy?

RL_Dane,
@RL_Dane@fosstodon.org avatar

@benjaminhollon

Very clean bash!! Very readable, and I'm already learning some new stuff, like bash array syntax (I hardly ever use arrays in bash, so it's a good refresher).

Yeah, this is good stuff. I've seen some gnarly shell out there, but this isn't that.

On Sunday. 30 April 2023, at 11:00am I shall be proclaiming a message from the Word of God to Ironworks Pike Community Church.
The subject is "God knows each one of us" and is mostly based on Psalm 139.
Verse 1 states: "O Lord, you have searched me and known me!"
He knows us better than we know ourselves.
Anyone is welcome to attend our service, but not all are able due to distance across the world. That's why we stream live on YouTube. Our channel is https://www.youtube.com/@ironworkspikecommunitychur5709/streams

Aye. Well, on fosstodon.
I was on another instance since 2019 or so, but scarcely active.

Okay, trying to get snapper set up for the first time and when I tried to enable grub-btrfs.path, it says it doesnt' exist. grub-btrfs is installed, so that's not the problem. The regular service does not exist either. So it's either called something else or I"m having another issue.

RL_Dane,

@thelinuxcast

I've got installed on , but I haven't explored how to configure it yet.

New :
Ok, we gotta design and make a new bridge set for the original Enterprise
> So, consult all of the old build logs and try to make something that looks a lot like --
Hell no! It's 2009! Make it ALL touch screens, and make the front of it a window.
> A window?! But it's the bridge of a ship! It should be protected, the viewscreen was never a wind --
You think I care?! It will look cool. BUILD IT.

I guess, although it's also a discipline thing.

RL_Dane,

I know, but also, a lot of people can have a huge attention span for things that interest them, and then very little for other things.

Quite! Also,

21st century child + nineteenth century school paradigm = ADHD overdiagnosis

You've got content being blasted at eyeballs at 90mph, and then you're expecting kids to slow down to 20mph in the "School Zone?"

Not happening. XD

's new tiling mode really needs to let you have different tiling layouts per virtual desktop to be useful.
I like the fact that it lets you have a gap between windows. I just wish there was a setting to change the size of the outer gap (around the screen edges).

RL_Dane,
@RL_Dane@fosstodon.org avatar

@nesc

It's a start, but yeah.
I find myself using the tiling-by-dragging-to-the-side/corner-of-the-screen mode than the actual fancy tiling mode. It's just a lot more fluid and flexible.
