I'll start, Photoshop isn't actually a big deal for most people and it being missing is easier to complain about than fixing the real issues on the desktop

And to the people who would say "just use another init system if you don't like it":

You're missing the point. I'm not choosing any of this. My distro maintainers do.

I use Arch and Debian, both use systemd and some of its "addons", and I can't opt out of it, without moving to another distro.

It's a non-choice (especially if you work professionally with linux).

After almost 2 years working as an IT technician (doing basically the job of a SysAdmin... for a lower salary), I was "invited to leave" by HR and accepted, I am now officially unemployed.

  • What does this mean for PussTheCat.org:

In short: PussTheCat.org will remain as is... partially (see what's next bellow).
I started to fix longstanding "issues" of it recently (moving Rimgo to another server, updating/enhancing the homepage...) and...

I have had a plan in my head for more than a year now: this plan being to make a " PussTheCat.org on steroid "

This is now what I plan to do: I'll open my own company (don't worry, I don't plan to turn it into a shit one), and go try to do this project.

Obviously, something like that wont allow me to have a complete salary (unless hundreds of you decide to become a customer), but it's a stepping stone toward being able to work full time on what I want: IT stuff (except actually interesting), FOSS and anti-bigtech stuff.

I plan to spend at least 3-6 months full time on it at the beginning.

I'd like to thanks, again, all the people that encouraged me and donated over the years, it means a lot to me.

Note:

  • Proxitok has also been moved to this VPS and still mostly work (but is affected by https://github.com/pablouser1/ProxiTok/issues/196 ).
  • Quetre has also been moved to this VPS, and remains blocked like on the previous one, I really can't do anything to fix it.

Just read the I Sold My Life for 10,000 Yen per Year. Enjoyed its bittersweetness. I s'pose living every day as if it’s one of the last days of your life (as long it’s not actually so, unlike in the manga), through which you would (reasonably) prioritize yourself, could be a way to . Also, while real life is in the way (compelling the protagonist to make the choice to give up his life), did prevail (convincing others that Miyagi really exists). You should give it a read!

@austin Ok: we more than likely don't have much time left. 10 to 20 years, more if things change but I find it highly unlikely.

People have never been this depressed, so even if short burst of fun are pointless in the long run, they are "good" way to enjoy your life and not be miserable.

I personally don't act like that, but in my experience most people do.

Most people who easily trade 3/4 of their life if they could have 5-10 years of happiness, and I kinda agree.
