🪑⑁💺 Looking for home office chair recommendations. 🪑⑁💺

I work from home full time. I spend 8 hour plus extra at night sometimes for study sessions / programming hobbies. Fairly regular sized person, looking for back support - I currently sit at the edge of my seat for some reason. Probably not good.

Willing to spend some money on this, although I will mumble and grumble about it.

It's wonderful to see discussions occurring on the fediverse like this. I think a future challenge, as more diverse federated platforms become popular, will be figuring out better ways to display content in your feed based on it's origin.

An example - this thread (with some very long posts) is readable in my Mastodon timeline, but definitely easier to read in a discussion oriented format like Discourse.

A coupla photo dumps from our walk abouts today. First, a trip to a consignment store. We visit these often and find some unique things each time!

That poor furry chair / beanbag footrest have been there for over a year.

An oval bucket chair, covered with pastel blue fuzzy monster hair, along with a bean bag foot rest in a bright pink layer of the same. Probably not the most comfortable or sturdy furniture, but very cool looking. They need a home.
A charcoal sketch, with long harsh strokes that show a young boy presenting a flow to a girl with long hair in the foreground. Subjectively, the drawing appears to be drawn angrily, possibly capturing a moment right before the boy gets rejected, and then he draws the scene himself.
A hillside villa oil painting made with broad strokes, almost abstract. Appears to be at sunrise or sunset as lights are on in many of the homes.. The sky is hazy.

Spent the morning learning about Salesforce + Azure SSO. Setting up in the sandbox wasn't clear in any docs I found.

Sure, the normal steps for SAML config as in any system. Directions are lacking about how to manage this in SF sandboxes where all usernames are appended with .sandbox.

Turns out there is a "Federated ID" field on every user - you can change that to the original value and it works.

But then how do you get just in time and auto-provisioning configured? 🤔

@julian I’ve just watched the 1st episode (well, the first that came out last week) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love seeing a doctor that’s more in tune with his emotions. And seems to be more direct with his companion, too.

The sonic screwdriver is my one WTF tho. Looks like a cordless mouse?

In recent years I’ve had to turn on close captioning to keep up. These two were easier to understand by this yankee and allowed me to focus on the show itself.

@andycarolan The sad thing is I have two opportunities I'd love to get out to my colleagues I've worked with in the past, but announcing it on LinkedIn means a flood of recruiters and marketers hitting me and it's just not worth it. So I'm just messaging them individually via text or whatever.

I have been testing low visibility accessibility on websites I visit, just to see what the experience is like.

Voice over is very easy to enable on a Mac with a magic keyboard. Clicking your touch id button quickly 3 times turns voice over on, and 3 times again turns it back off. Excellent shortcut that makes it easy to include in your development process.

After 5 years of WordPress, I have rebuilt my website using @eleventy! I've been using Eleventy for years now on other projects (including one for NASA) and I'm super stoked to be using it for my personal website.

"just press 0 until they let you talk to a human" hasn't worked for large companies for 5–10 years and i wish people would stop with that advice. they will just drop your call.

phone menus are designed to deflect calls from actual customer service, and they get upgraded until they can reliably do that.

@vyr As someone that configured a phone tree system…the best thing you can do is be absolute chaos. Mumble, press weird buttons, ask your questions in strange ways, the AI will give up and forward you to someone real…eventually. Just don’t be too weird because there may be real people listening to you. 😅
